The most defining moment of the game for me (and for everyone) was being able to celebrate Lamela’s goal without VAR asking you to pause and wait for two minutes. Liberating!

It’s funny looking back now, the last thing you’d likely recommend someone suffering from a mental-health illness do is watch 4 hours of Tottenham each week, but there I was.

A pal of mine said to me that watching Spurs off the pitch has been a lot more entertaining than watching them on it. Up to the second half at Southampton, I’d say there was some truth to that.

His position in the first team was immediately stunted by Poch’s admission that he was brought in as “cover” for Rose. If we’re being totally honest, that has largely been Davies’ role for Spurs ever since his transfer.

Both sides looked vulnerable at the back, and it was a day where attackers shined while defenders shrivelled.
