because this is the first time we’ve ever seen Dier play in midfield? It’s not his match sharpness that’s the problem.

I think it’s way to early to jump aboard the suck each other off hype train Sammy.

We played well first half, pretty shit second half.

I’ve seen you declare about seven first halves this season as “great” and “really enjoying this”.

We were about 5 minutes away from coughing up a 3-0 lead to the only PL team in worst form than us.

We still need a midfield and Dier is no more it than Sissoko is, or Winks for that matter.

Dier isn't the answer in midfield but I was happier seeing him there than Sissoko. Until we properly replace Big Vic I don't see many other options to play in front of the back 4.

I thought we defended better as a team overall, it was noticeable how we got back into position quickly after losing possession up pitch. Second half we dropped off mainly through fatigue and some complacency.

It's still not a barometer as West Ham were toilet but we needed the 3 points for confidence and it was a better performance than recently in the league without being great.

I was delighted to see:
- No Eriksen set pieces
- Hardly any playing out from the back or passing around the penalty area with onrushing attackers.

Why was it so hard for Pochettino to give those up?
