Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

His top targets Steve. Poch isn't as stupid as you make out. He wouldn't have mbappe as 1 of his top targets. You lot do love to bash poch. Poch was crap & a loser, he would do awful at Newcastle, we get it.

He knocked back the chance of Grielish & Tielemans (who plenty on here wank over) cos he refused to entertain the idea of anyone but De Jong.

Kinda contradicts you really doesn't it.

Well the reality is that Spurs as a club in the CL wanted De Jong as a rookie Ajax player who'd barely played a handful of games in his preferred position in the Dutch league at the time and would have been considered a step up for the player .

Newcastle a non CL making Mbappe their number 1 target is in a different stratosphere considering Mbappe is the best young player in the world, a world Cup winner, a marketing sensation and already at one of the best and richest clubs in the world and starring in it.

De Jong essentially knocked us back for Barcelona.

Regardless it still exhibits Poch getting tunnel vision over a player he can't sign.

Not really the point tho is it, whether what you say is true or not seems dubious but it's not a rabbit hole I have any intention of going down, I agree with scott scott that Mbappe and Neymar and others in that bracket won't be on Pochettino or Newcastle's radar if Poch does become their manager and if they are committed to making that type of investment in football players.

My opinion is they'll begin by heavily overpaying for the likes Willian and Callum Wilson etc, it'll take years for them to be anywhere near top drawer players.

Really? I thought he was keen on Grealish but as usual was let down by Levy who tabled an offer of........

Tottenham transfer news: Stunning twist over Jack Grealish with hours left of deadline day

£3 million + Josh Onomah :harrylol:

No doubt you'll rubbish the report because it doesn't agree with your narrative that Levy backs his managers and Poch is the Devil 👹

Mate we didn't get Grealish because Villa was taken over. His brother at the time all but confirmed he was on his way to Spurs, then the take over went through (took even the Villa faithful by surprise) and the deal was off.

If Poch does go to Newcastle and wins things, it's gonna be fun on here.

Poch haters - Only won stuff cos the club is doped.

Poch Lovers - He could of done that with us.

Levy Out Brigade - Poch wasn't backed, get this dwarf out of my club.

Levy Appreciation Brigade - Poch turned down targets and got the wrong players in.

I love how the self appointed uber progressive Guardianista supporters are trying to redefine the measurement of an elite manager to exclude silverware. And isn’t it odd that it’s only done with Pochettino ( and his equally unsuccessful mentor Bielsa). You would think after the last 12 months there would have been a serious revision of the mans abilities but no it’s a continuation of the previous narrative. This guy will get seriously exposed at a club where silverware is the standard.

The only thing I can say with certainty is that we will all be watching his next appointment with eagerness. I do expect that whatever happens at his next club there will be the same set of spurs fans making excuses either way if he’s a success or failure. The discussion hasn’t gone away!

It will be an other Jol and Redknapp situation with his peak being us. He is nearly 50 and managers like players have their shelf life and most start to decline in their early to mid 50s. He is easily the most overrated manager in the game today.

I agree, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he went to another team at our level that he’d win a cup. Surely he can’t continue to make the wrong decisions in massive games!?!?

I’d actually like to see him take over Newcastle, because it would be a set of circumstances that would satisfy a lot of a section of our fan base. An owner that’s expected to throw ridiculous amounts of money at a team (although that’s assumed it’s yet to be proved if they will) and a team with a few decent young players.

Which is why I believe he will end up at Utd next (Newcastle not Manchester) instead of Real Madrid.

I don't understand why a man would dye his hair, but then grow a very grey beard! Especially when he insists he doesn't dye!!!!
🤥

I'm no expert, but do we know if Poch does dye his hair?

I've got loads of grey coming through in my beard, but none up top.

Either way , I see a way fwd for Morris though:
