and the others?

Debruyne?

Meh; Chavski are still wasting and exiling promising young talent now..... As the other chap said, players slip through the net at times; it happens. (Personally I think Roman's finger prints are all over their trf activity....)

eg Take Gnabry...... And that was Arsene 'Child Catcher' Wenger!

Still happened though.

A young player got sold and ended up being good? If you're going to use that stick to beat the man you'd better mention every player under him that got sold and ended up not being anything special. And do you have knowledge that it was Jose that requested Salah and debruyne be moved on and that it wasn't a club decision?

An immature De Bruyne could get in the team with Willian, prime Oscar and Hazard and couldn't deal with it / wanted to play week in week out (fair enough so they sold him), he is a much better footballer nowadays and has certainly grown as a man as well.

He was incredible when given a chance for Chelsea but Mourinho froze him out for no reason and didn't communicate with him though. De Bruyne has said himself that he was frustrated not only because he wasn't given a chance, but because he felt he performed when he played and frozen out with no explanation or further chances.

Mourinho plays his favorites, for better or worse. Rose is a huge prick but he already articulated that there is some sense of what De Bruyne claims already present among the squad.

Footballers who don't play always feel like they deserve more game time, but it wasn't strange at all at the time that José picked other players... People are just saying that now because De Bruyne later became a great player.

Not really though, he was a huge talent which is why he was in and about the first team in the first place. Either way, the issue relates to lack of rotation and Mourinho's tendency to play certain players despite others outperforming them. That's not necessarily bad for the overall performance of the team, but if Bergwijn scores a hat trick yet gets benched in favor of Moura again the next game with no explanation or path to a starting spot, I think it's something that can clearly cause issues in the long term and lose us players.

Or one's he bought for fortunes that turned out to be nothing special or unable to get them playing (see £400m at Utd).

Know one even knows the real or true ins and outs of players at our own club!! But it's fair to appoint some responsibility towards a coach/manager for playing or not playing someone and if the player isn't getting selected and then gets shipped out it's fair to say a reason for this has a lot to do with if a player is backed by the coach or manager with mins on the pitch (compound that further with said player enjoying mins both pre and post-transfer when not under that manager).

So had either had been selected and played substaial mins they wouldn't have been shipped out be that at the Clubs request, players request or mangers request. (or were managed to a point where they remained at the club dispite not getting mins because they felt thier time would come or could by into the reasons why they were not playing and saw no reason why they should seek a move away, I get why a young player would push for a loan to get mins but then for that player to be sold, shows the lack of judgement and patience, after all it was Jose that said he can judge how good a player is after 10min of whating him).

What's the problem with selling them both ? Chelsea still won the league 2x in 3 years without them. If a football club keep thinking and planning for the future they will never succeed the present, spurs has had enough thinking for the future and winning absolutely nothing , it's time to change that ..let the likes of united doing their imaginary future and be trophyless for decade

Yeah, what's even the point of having an academy...........
For nothing? How many bayern Munich academy graduate start for their treble winning team ? Top clubs loan their youth and only took them back if they had prove themselves / meet their high standard if not they would just sell. If you want to win it now you have to forget about youth, let them mature somewhere while the club maintain standard.

And that’s where it’s tough to balance. Top clubs with high expectations from the board, will always demand winning silverware now. Hence, managers will never be in a situation to play the academy players until they mature. They’d be fired before these players mature.

having said that, every now and then, one or two may shine and get transitioned into the first team.

we are in a league where it’s unforgiving when it comes to having patience with academy or young players. Fans will turn on academy players in a heartbeat.

academy is a part of the business basically. You get these young players, groom them, develop them, some will turn out well for the first team, others will be good enough for a transfer fee that provides a nice return on investment. Hence the more reason to protect these academy players and not let their stock drop before they’re even ready.
