I agree with most of your posts, mate, but I must say that in my opinion you were wrong when in your first post tonight (I am paraphrasing, correct me if I am wrong) you said: " what achievements ? he hasn't won any trophy"
I have never heard that Poch was hired to win trophies, nor I have ever expected that. Yes , it could have happened and I feel sorry we didn't, but that to me has never been the objective he would have been assessed on.

We all have our opinions and we all had our personal emotions from that time that now has gone for good, but I don't think that it's fair to judge Poch for the lack of trophies. On the contrary, ll the comments about such lack are one of the biggest sign of how well he did with him, because we went on to play for some trophy that was unimaginable before him

What was unimaginable before him?
Only CL win, I'd say. Now look at the replays of semi- and quarterfinals. Are you suggesting that this was some epic tactical masterclass or was there huge amount of luck also involved?

At the same time he had literally ALL the resources to win a domestic cup. Yet in decisive games we crumbled to the ground under him, despite having more talented squad that beat very same opponents in same seasons (ManU and Chelsea in cup semifinal and final) in the league.

There is no doubt that he done some remarkable work with us and gave us few good seasons. But to claim that "I have never heard that Poch was hired to win trophies" then... sorry but what HAVE you heard what was he brought on for? To lose in cup semifinals and finals? Very, very weird claim to make, sorry.

Experiment?

They've had Moyes, Van Gaal, Jose and now Ole since Fergie left. Poch would do fine there and we all know it hence some of the panic.

Plenty of younger players he can get his teeth into and Donny and Bruno are both players he'll enjoy working with.

Pogba though I'm not so sure about.

"We all know it" .. well, let's not quite paint with so broad brush.

I personally would not be too much against ManU signing him. They have issues in their squad and I doubt that they have better squad that he had with us.

I stand my ground - I do not see Poch winning significant trophy any time soon for any side, unless he gets a gig at super-dominant side in their respective competitions e.g Bayern, Juve, PSG, Real, Barca, Ajax.

I think your wrong I think just like Jose did he would win things with that squad right now. Ole is useless. But the youth team is producing good prospects that Poch would polish. Pogaba gets binned but the reality is he could get them competing any decent coach could.

I respect your opinion mate, no problem at all about that

I think you will find all the answers to your questions in my previous post. Most of them are down on opinions, I think (what was unimaginable, what resources we had, whether we went into any competition or competition semi final as favourite or not), and also on our expectations.

I have heard and read that Poch was brought in to get regular CL football by the time we have opened the new stadium. Now, I certainly cannot remember where I have read that and don't care about starting rummaging the internet in search of the the articles backing this statement, so if you think that it wasn't true, that's fine with me , mate.

If Poch goes to United they'll be much better than us within a couple seasons. Sorry bitches but it's true.

& no I won't celebrate it. I'll just cunt people off online. Maybe that counts as celebrating I don't know. Nevertheless, pls go abroad. It's well cold in England.

Re: Poch to United.... It's rather simple to me; I'd rather be able to wish him well in his next job than wish him failure as a rival.

He can do a lot better than go to that shitshow
Depends how much they're willing to let him spend.

Teams like United no matter how shit they become are always a good manager and a few transfers windows away from being right back up there challenging seriously (like chavs have been).

With the amount of money they spend and the cache the club has around the world; of course they ought to be better than us.

If they're not, then they're failing.

The team is toxic

Pogba
Martial
Fred
Etc

Then you have Woodward

I just can’t see it

They had a good manager with José and sacked him

I really hope they fuck up big time

Me too, so great to see that arrogant "Do you realise who we are ?" attitude crumbling into the dust. Their opponents, whoever they are, have no respect for Man Utd's history of success and why should they, it's gone. They tried to create a dream move with bringing OGS back as manager and it imploded big style. Woodward is now faced with either trying to buy instant success to pacify the baying pack of impatient fans or attempt to recreate another Ferguson dynasty which would take time and effort.
My guess is Ole will be gone after this weekend if they lose at Everton, giving the new manager time to assess the existing squad and make plans for the January window. Whatever happens they are currently in freefall and it will be quite a few seasons before we see them realistically challenging for top honours again.

I bet Kevin Keegan just loves it!!

Hope Poch gives them a swerve!

How many times are you gonna copy paste that? Still won’t make it true.

Ferguson dynasties are no longer possible in the modern game. He was given 4 years before winning his first trophy - that’s not longer feasible in the current climate

I agree, although re the fans.....

In general, I'd say fans misunderstand how important they are. Fans have been bitter and upset for years at United, Newcastle, West Ham.....it doesn't really matter tbh.

The only case you can make is at the goons, where #wengerout got some serious momentum....and look where that got them.

Lots of people here don't like ENIC and Levy....which has had absolutely zero impact on the club as a business. Woodward has a series of targets in football terms, and they'll be:

1. Stay in PL
2. Qualify for CL
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10. Win something would be nice

Modern football clubs are assets, not clubs representing local communities. They are vehicles to raise debt against and generate income. Of course winning is nice....but you need several hundred million invested in players over several years to build up CL campaigns with a chance of winning and even then...just look at PSG.

If I owned a mid-table club like United, I'd be very happy with mid table finishes and just raking in the cash thanks. One eye of course on the need for some glory to maintain the brand, but really wouldn't give a fuck tbh,

I dearly hope Poch doesn't go there, it would be a terrible decision. Failure there would undermine his achievements at Spurs and he'd perversely become the 'failure specialist'. Somewhere like Inter seems a much better fit.
