Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Bit harsh. Dembele was very, very highly regarded by the squad, and maybe Trippier felt even with injury issues he could've played a couple of key games and made a difference. Doesn't sound all that different to how many people felt at the time. Selling him and bringing in someone made sense, selling and doing nothing was a disgrace, and Trippier is absolutely right to say that it was decisions like that which stopped us making that final step to trophies.

Disagree mate.

Dembele was one of the most gifted players I had ever seen, but I recall vividly the how fatigued he looked toward the end of his tenure with us.

Trips can say what he wishes, I think it's poor taste to crap on your old club.

Not even necessarily saying it's his fault per se, but the whole deal when he was appointed was that he was intended to fix our dithering in the market and transform us. Remember all the optimism when Conte was hired too?

Just feels like he hasn't changed anything. Which you're right, might not be his fault at all, I don't know what is going on behind the scenes. But even our targets aside from Diaz are extremely underwhelming, and we all know that one isn't happening.

He was hired to protect Levy from criticism, no other reason.

Paratici can do all the work of identifying a player and getting a deal in place. If Levy still refuses to sign the cheque because he wants to try and lower the price on deadline day, there is nothing Paratici can do. Levy controls the money and that will never change.

I've never despised anyone in my life as much as I do Levy. Had the footballing world at his feet with the UCL final and the new stadium opening. A chance to make his "business" (daren't call it a footballing team) a real powerhouse. What a fucking prat.
I never hated Levy, i was a bit on the fence but bloody hell the last 2 years (certainly last 12 months) he's going to be challenging my loathing of Alan Sugar soon.

l have supported my beloved Spurs for 60 yrs and this man Levy whom I’d love to choke is wearing me down. When it comes to collecting his millions of pounds yearly bonus he doesn’t turn it down. We are becoming a laugh, this man is more interested in NFL than making us a premier league winning team. When Leicester won the league that should have been us but big Kane got injured and Levy wouldn’t back the manager up with a forward.
Sorry for going on about this man but we need a fresh start and I mean new owners. COYS

This reminded me of that AI, that within minutes of coming online became a racist.
How long has it taken to go from non-English speaker to "fucking cunts" lol?
And that was one of the better possible outcomes, it could always have gone full Ultron and decided within seconds that we all needed to die...

I wonder how long until Nabil Bentaleb Nabil Bentaleb reaches that conclusion?

This is all true.

But Paratici did sign off on Royal, Gollini and Gil. None of which look good enough to play for us in the here and now. Some Gil fans will argue that he is young and might come good. But the point is last summer we lost Bale and Lamela. We needed to replace those players with quality not players that may come good in a few years.

This is my issue with Paratici, what signings he has put his name too so far are pretty pathetic.

I think what he said just reflects the frustration he and many felt at the time from being so close but the club never giving us that little bit extra we needed. Fair enough Dembele may have been done, but letting him go with nobody coming in? Damn.. it just wasn’t good enough.

They are only 50% fake they are trying to sign a player in the last days of the window because the selling club is desperate. The problem is it worked once so we attempt to do it every year. They are not to try and appease the fans they are Levy trying to do a deal on the cheap but football has changed since this tactic worked.

Much as I joke ‘’we tried’’. I do think they genuinely try but do it with a premium on the lowest possible cost which means easy to be gazumped or to not reach agreeement.

Hence in various media sources the ‘’looking’’, ‘’observing’’, ‘’preparing a bid’’, which goes on for weeks and weeks before finally the deal falls flat on its arse or if it does come to a head its so painful the fans are more relieved than happy.

Yep, not one of our summer signings has improved us. Romero looks like he has ability but hasn’t made a meaningful impact, although that one we can put down to bad luck with injuries.

He had the job of improving on Aurier, Lamela and a past it Toby. So far two fails and an unknown.

I have been noticing the same over this transfer window. Nabil Bentaleb Nabil Bentaleb you used to be an informed poster with some good opinions, now just relegated and worn down to hurling abuse.
