Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Trouble is I’m not entirely sure where the hole is, because I don’t know where Conte wants to play everyone.

But, evergreen, fuck off with the idea of no players being available.
I don't doubt players were available. But were they players Conte wanted, at the price we wanted to pay, for the wages we felt were worthwhile? Just because we think it is possible doesn't mean that those three things all were there.

United spent over 100 million in the summer on players they dont even use, bought a past his prime primadonna and have looked like complete garbage for months now. They are bad. They make Nuno spurs look ok.

Yes, they might somehow flip a switch and get better but I doubt it is before the end of this season. They have played a relatively simple schedule since the Ole sacking and now their schedule gets absolutely brutal and they are still in Europe.

If we maintain close to 2 PPG (2.1 since Conte joined), I can't see United catching us.
I really hope you're right. It's just the games vs Chelsea that really worried me; and I feel our improvements have been significant enough since then.

I actually wouldn't mind cloggers in midfield, if we had bought an exciting attacking RWB to contribute to the attack. Conte also made clear he wanted a RWB in Jan. Hopefully hes' not too angry.

I should have worded it better- I think we are now underdogs for top 4, but if we had a better transfer window I think we'd be narrow favourites.

Fine

I think though talking about squad strengths of players is just one aspect of the makeup of your team and how strong it is, like you mentioned earlier you have to take into account how good/experienced the coaches are, what their track record is like, the mentality of the team/players as well is important...how settled the squads are and the competitions the clubs are in which takes fatigue into account.

It's not as cut and dry as saying that x's squad is better than y's squad because Utd would be challenging for the league and we'd be firmly in mid table.

What can Spurs expect from Bentancur and Kulusevski?

SKY Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio:

"Kulusevski is a very talented player - it's difficult to understand what is his real position but Antonio Conte is the perfect coach to understand where best to use him in the right system.

"Fabio Paratici is the man who brought Kulusevski from Atalanta to Juventus. Conte wanted him too when he was at Inter Milan because at that Christmas time, the two teams were both challenging to sign him off Atalanta.

"Conte and Fabio are the right couple to allow Kulusevski to reach his highest level while Rodrigo Benancur is an important midfielder. I feel he can be important for Tottenham. In the last months at Juventus, he didn't play so well because he needed to change.

"I feel he can be an important player for Tottenham. Antonio can let him play in the right way. Bentancur needs to be stimulated and Antonio is the right man to refresh him."

Yes, we looked like complete garbage in those games and I worry about those too. Luckily, we haven't looked garbage in most of the others and we are done playing Chelsea in the league. Agree on your part about the RWB.

Because we have a better manager. And also a tougher mentality this season than them- we've won many tight games even when below par. Meanwhile Woolwich try and postpone games, lose their minds and get down to 10 men, etc. when things get tough.

Partey has recently improved his level closer to his Atletico days; Xhaka I agree is a laughing stock.

Comparing defences is difficult, I think individually they have the edge- but Conte's formation means we are more solid.

Of course; Kane and Son elite level. But our problem is they're our only 2 reliable goalscorers. And we don't have anyone creative either. Woolwich definitely have more goalscorers and creative players.

If Kane and Son get injured we're in real trouble in terms of goals; but Woolwich aren't that reliant on a select few.
You seem to be agreeing with most of what I said so I don't see how the conclusion is that Woolwich have a better team than us.

I'd rather be reliant on Kane and Son than have no elite goalscorers to rely upon.

People falling into the trap again. Make no mistake Conte has been good but he has already sounded out the desperation to strengthen. Why? Because although the results have improved its been via a few easy games up until we came across Chelsea and got spanked 3 times in a row. Eventually the wheels will fall off somewhat and thats where the strengthening was supposed to maintain this run of form.

Reading the comments, I feel I have stumbled into a jonestown cult, where Levy is God and Airfixx Airfixx is the messenger. Pure stockholm syndrome. We’ve been so deprived that the only thing you need to do is sign somebody, literally anybody, give him a little “COYS interview” to satisfy the fans until a few weeks later when the glaring problems resume on the pitch.

Loaned out half our squad. Brought in 2 Juventus bench warmers. And the vibe is that this is a great window because “no one buys in January”

Honestly, we deserve 1 trophy in 20+ Years.

We have far better mentality and coaching than both United & Woolwich. Let's hope that this is enough to carry us across the top 4 finish line.

Rubbish

Look at some facts before you post please.

The 4 we got rid of were not playing much

The 2 we brought in were playing regularly for Juve
