Wtf we've taken Andy Scoulding from rangers. Is this a fn piss take? Taking a guy from a joke league were he worked for one of only two clubs who have won the league in the last 40 years and had a budget far in excess of anyone but celtic, and allowing him to work on building a team in the most competitive league on earth... Not a good choice, who at rangers would change the world??? Another cheap and nasty move by uncle fester whose 150m is apparently being well spent on free transfers and now apparently players from the Irish and Scottish leagues. Tell me this is a joke.

Anyone got a spare bucket....?

We got another melt-job here that needs scooping up in order to vacate the thread.

Has to be a joke.

Oh wait, I have the cunt on ignore. He's actually serious.

They guy has 600ish positive reactions in 500 posts. I'm wondering how many of those were actually sarcastic laughs.

Serious lack of self-awareness in this reply....

You cut-n-paste endless SM guff on here(*) - regardless of credibility - and obviously consume a fuck-tone of SM drivvel as evidenced by your "everyone we've been linked with" lists.....

Clearly any time some teenager on twitter or some wannabe hack with 1k followers mentions a player you construe that as a noteworthy 'link'.

(*I'm not the only poster to have pointed this out either.....)
So a little bit of banter and fun about rumors surrounding Spurs is not allowed in this thread then, Mr. Inspector?
When I see posts about players from obscure media I just ignore them rather than work up a fit.
Besides, those players I mentioned (Zaha, Badiashile, Koulibaly, Milenkovic, Kim Min-Jae, James Ward-Prowse, Dries Mertens) have in fact all been linked to Spurs by mainstream media as well and even been discussed at length in various threads

It’s strange that all the talk is about defenders? Where are the days when we were linked with attacking skilful players. We use to buy players like gazza , Robbie k, berbatov, etc.
now everyone is just talking about CBs. Kind of depressing although we do need some but where are the links to some real creative players?
I’d be happy with YB, ericksen and neves. We should just go all out for someone like neves whose played in England for a few years now. He can handle the intensity and number of games. Why keep looking abroad?
Those 3 plus a top quality CB and rwb is what we need.
This link to players from inter/Italy is getting a bit tiresome and looks very lazy/imaginative.
Get the 3 I stayed above plus bremer if bastino if his not available. Then get a top attacking player.
We should only release one of Rodon/Dav and berg/Lucas. We need the numbers and find replacement is gonna be costly.
Get rid of the ones who are proper outcasts.
Just would like us linked to someone whose gonna really excite us going forward.

The dempsey days were annoying as fuck
All the countries without big football stars or history are super annoying about their player. Even some that do have it.

Mahrez fans are insufferable and extremely abusive towards Sterling and others if/when Mahrez is benched or someone fails to pass to him.

Koreans can be pretty cunty towards Spurs at any perceived slight against Son.

Apparently the dippers are dealing with a little Senegal/Egypt feud over Salah/Mane's status at the club.

We have one of the best front 3's in Europe. Any player we sign would be a rotation player at best. In the 3-4-3, we also don't really run with a #10 which is what Eriksen is. Neves or Bissouma are quality but I wouldn't really call them attacking. There's only maybe 1 spot in the midfield up for grabs? We have Skipp, PEH, and Bentancur who are all going to get a lot of minutes.

The links to Italy are probably because Paratici knows the players well. Players we brought in from Serie A: Romero, Bentancur, Kulusevski

Outside of Serie A: Gil, Sarr, Royal

Small sample size, but definitely have to say the Serie A players were a hit. Probably our best transfers in years.

You could have just typed “I’m mentally ill” and not wasted your time with that fucking paragraph.

I'm pretty sure we will set a deadline having set up an alternative such that on 30 June or 31 July (or whatever deadline we have set ourselves) we close the deal on Plan B and move on.

Always difficult to do - someone will always want to hang on for a few more days..... but otherwise you get to the end of the window with too few alternatives available.
Been there

100 quid says when you woke up this morning you had never heard of Andy Scoulding or knew the position of assistant performance director existed.

Talking rubbish mate. Go on any forest forum and my Forest supporting mate says he’s the real deal. What, so he didn’t turn up in the play off’s? I guess kane has a shit attitude then, as he didn’t turn up in a few finals. He’s been instrumental in getting Forest to the premier league. Great speed and massive potential.
I think we met your forest supporting mate

Anyone ever seen him play?

Lots. He’s got some technical ability and some vision, can carry/hold the ball (though he’s not a pacy dribbler) and pass the ball incisively, scores and makes goals, can play as an 8 in a 3 I guess, but more as an ACM/AM. At a real push he could play as a false 9.

He’s produced at a decent rate (performances and goods) for Lyon, but is a bit inconsistent, his versatility might appeal, but he wouldn’t be my choice. I don’t think he’s exactly what we need, don’t think he’ll be as effective in the PL, and I don’t think he fits Conte’s system really - unless he’s going to change.

......Or how to boil the water for his morning cuppa.

....Subsequently spending the rest of the day in A&E talking to a guy with a saucepan on his head.

.....Hence posting so late in the day.

Alasdair Gold claims Tottenham have now set sights on 20-cap centre-back who's 'Koulibaly-esque'

On Friday, football.london published an in-depth Alasdair Gold article about Tottenham’s transfer plans.

He named the likes of Josko Gvardiol, Pau Torres, Marc Guehi, Gleison Bremer and Clement Lenglet as targets.

There was also a new name in the mix – Dinamo Kyiv’s Ilya Zabarnyi.

According to Gold, Spurs have been closely watching the 19-year-old and are weighing up a summer move for him.

Who is reported Tottenham target Ilya Zabarnyi?

Zabarnyi has come through the ranks at Dinamo Kyiv and has also won 20 caps for Ukraine.

He has made 59 appearances for his club and has three trophies to his name.

Zabarnyi won the Ukrainian double – league title and cup – with Dinamo in 2020-21, as well as the Ukrainian Supercup.

The teenager penned a new deal with his club in October last year.

However, it remains unclear what will happen next season for Ukrainian football clubs and the players on their books.

In wake of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, which began in February, the Ukrainian Premier League was suspended and then terminated.

Zabarnyi, a right-footer, can play on either side of the defence.

As per Goal.com in 2021, local scout Alex Velikikh compared him to Napoli and Senegal star Kalidou Koulibaly.

Zabarnyi is ‘tall, strong in the air, physically imposing and good reader of the game’.

He dreams of playing alongside his idol Virgil van Dijk, and hopes to emulate the Liverpool star’s game

Ilya Zabarnyi: Ukraine's Koulibaly-esque wonderkid on Chelsea's radar

The 18-year-old is the youngest defender at Euro 2020 after a year in which he went from unknown youth-team player to a starter for his country

It is more than 19 years since legendary Dynamo Kyiv coach Valery Lobanovsky tragically passed away at the age of 63.

The man who led the Ukrainian giants to two Cup Winners' Cup triumphes and three European Cup/Champions League semi-finals is loved around the country, but especially by football fans in its capital.
It is fitting, then, that perhaps one of the finest talents to emerge in Ukranian football since Lobanovsky was nurturing Andriy Shevchenko and Serhiy Rebrov in the late 1990s is a boyhood Dynamo supporter.

lya Zabarnyi is the first player born after the great coaching maestro's death to represent Ukraine, though his own development is being overseen by the man who has long positioned himself as the ultimate Dynamo rival and enemy.

Mircea Lucescu, who coached Shakhtar Donetsk between 2004 and 2016, winning eight league titles, sensationally took over at Dynamo in the summer of 2020. To understand how momentous that move was, just imagine Sir Alex Ferguson joining Liverpool, and that should give you an idea.

Tensions were high, but the 75-year-old Romanian proved that his decision was the correct one, bringing the title back to the Olympic Stadium for the first time since 2016.

And teenager Zabarnyi was at the very heart of this remarkable success.

A year ago, only those who closely followed Dynamo Kyiv's youth team knew the homegrown central defender's name. His sudden appearance in the starting lineup to face AZ Alkmaar in a crucial Champions League qualifier in September, therefore, stunned everyone, including club president Ihor Surkis.

When the club's starting centre-backs Mykyta Burda and Denys Popov picked up injuries at the start of the season, Dynamo planned to make a new signing. "After a couple of days, Lucescu called me and said that there is no need to spend money," Surkis recalled. "He promoted Zabarnyi from the youth team and saw a lot of potential in him.

"I tried to convince him that it's a big gamble ahead of the Champions League qualifiers, but he was absolutely certain. He trusted Zabarnyi from that moment."

That is how his meteoric rise began. In just his second first-team appearance, Zabarnyi did a magnificent job against AZ, as Dynamo went on to qualify for the Champions League group stage.

There were a couple of mistakes in his first league matches, but the impression was so positive that Ukraine manager Shevchenko decided to call-up the youngster for the national team in October.

"I was in shock after getting invited," Zabarnyi said. "I thought I would be there check out the atmosphere and almost go as a tourist, but I ended up in the starting lineup against France!"

At the age of just 18 years and 36 days, he became the second-youngest player to represent Ukraine behind Rebrov, leaving Shevchenko himself down in third.

It was quite a debut too. With numerous Ukrainian players out with Covid-19, the friendly game at Stade de France was in danger of being cancelled. It eventually went ahead, with Zabarnyi playing 90 minutes and facing Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann, Anthony Martial and Olivier Giroud.

Though the final scoreline read 7-1 to the hosts, the centre-back received plaudits from Shevchenko nevertheless. Bravery and fighting spirit cemented his place in the starting lineup, and by the end of 2020 Zabarnyi had faced Germany twice in the Nations League, while also being part of a defence which kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Spain.

Zabarnyi also proceeded to play every second in Dynamo's six Champions League group-stage matches, and while his side lost all of their matches against Barcelona and Juventus, the centre-back gained extremely valuable experience.

He was much more assured come 2021, and was not making the same mistakes in domestic encounters anymore.

Under the guidance of Lucescu, his positioning and distribution have improved significantly, and he finished the season having completed 93 per cent of his passes. "Mircea helped me by criticising me a lot. He has given me everything," Zabarnyi says.

He is fearless too. Breaking his nose did not prevent him from taking part in the game of the season against Shakhtar in April, and Zabarynyi even took off his protective mask and threw it away. Dynamo kept a clean sheet in the 1-0 win, with the centre-back absolutely imperious.

Zabarnyi then proceeded to score his first professional goal at the best timing imaginable.

Having prevailed over Shakhtar, Dynamo needed to beat Ingulets in order to celebrate the title with three matches to go, and it was the youngster who netted after just five minutes. His team won 5-1, but his effort went down in history as "the goal that won the championship".

It is hardly surprising, then, that Zabarnyi was voted Ukrainian Player of the Month in April. May was decent too, with Dynamo completing the domestic double by beating Zorya in the Cup final.

Just over a year ago, his monthly salary stood at around £100 ($125). Now his name is on everyone's lips, and it is rumoured that Chelsea or AC Milan could try to sign him in the summer.

Dynamo are keen to keep the youngster in their ranks for now, while Zabarnyi's own dream is to play alongside his idol Virgil van Dijk, whose game he tries to emulate.

Tall, strong in the air, physically imposing and good reader of the game, he is not at the Dutchman's level yet, but his talents have been compared to Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly by local scout Alex Velikikh.
