Why? Semi finals/finals are tougher both technically and mentally. They’ve been spread over many managers/players, yes in those games there are individual moments where managers/players don’t do well enough and in that sense it’s collective. But when the next group of managers and players fail and the next, you have to start attributing the majority of the responsibility to the constant. It’s not lazy it’s just how any business would look at it. They are either not employing/buying the right people or they are not implementing a mentality at the club.
True. If a business continues to fail/fall short over 2 decades it’s on the owners. You don’t just say “well, the employees didn’t get it done, nothing to do with us”.If ENIC are as good as a lot of you proclaim they would accept and embrace that responsibility as well.

No one was let off the hook they were all sacked and most of the players have been sold or have left?Nah this is a cop out and you're just letting the players and managers off the hook. How comes we've had the players who have managed to qualify for the CL 5 times out of the last 7 seasons for example and yet in that time not lift up a trophy? In that time there's been 2 title challenges as well...
So either of those things don't require a tougher mentality, you don't play at a higher technical level when you're competing to qualify in the CL? Because our players seemed pretty good at that.
As I said ENIC are to blame as well as the staff, ENIC aren't going out there telling the players to miss penalties, they aren't going out there telling the managers to pick wingers at wing back etc...They aren't going out there telling the team to not score goals in finals.
They did sack a manager who is known for winning cups 6 days before a cup final, that they can be blamed for which weirdly ENIC don't cop as much flak as they should from our fanbase, probably because it was Mourinho but hey ho...
It's a collective thing, as long as people are happy to admit that the club have progressed under ENIC's reign due to the managers and players and staff they've hired then you gotta keep the same energy for when the club fucks up.
im saying they would accept that internally they wouldn’t want people blaming those under them.
As owners of historically one of the biggest, best supported and, up until 2000, most decorated clubs in the country, ENIC have failed miserably where it matters most. On the damned football pitch.
They openly stated their aim. To create a global sporting / entertainment empire with a NFL franchise as the icing on the cake..
We were / are just the vehicle used to reach their goal.
As a result, meaningful investment in the football team remains lacking, the, dusty old trophy cabinet remains empty, and Spurs remain the butt of jokes for the wider footballing community.
Just a shame some of our fans find this perfectly acceptable
Well said mate, the club never takes advantage of momentum, it has been seen a number of times over the years missed opportunities.im saying they would accept that internally they wouldn’t want people blaming those under them.
But if you’re talking about what we can see, then backing mangers properly when we are close not just making them ride out the top four wave. Actually looking at semi/final defeats and saying okay what can we do differently as a club, there is a pattern, we actually have the power to properly effect it. They are obviously not bothered and to be honest neither am i anymore. The ENIC experience is not going to go anywhere apart from £2b profit at the end of it. Just a waiting game now.
It will be interesting to see what Woolwich do in the next couple of windows will they try and add to the momentum they are building or will they just sit on their hands. I know what ENIC would do.

If managers coming into the club get told top four, the level of each achievement bonus reflect that, the same for a player, when it comes down to the end of the season, fatigue is setting in, the squad and quality of it is small, those league games are going take preference even subconsciously. The ENIC ethos is top four above all else, that seems obvious to me, when we look short of that, investment seems to come. That mentality has seeped into the whole club.

I don’t think they’ve been terrible owners. They have increased revenue so theoretically we should be able to compete. Safe but self serving I would describe them. I just hope they aren’t waiting for an unrealistic offer and someone with a similar mindset. I just want someone who actually gives it a go even if they don’t get it right.Well said mate, the club never takes advantage of momentum, it has been seen a number of times over the years missed opportunities.
I think we are playing the waiting game now, just need a big hitter to come and buy the club there are people out there.
I would imagine the next owners will be American, especially as we have the best NFL stadium outside the US.
You’re not really taking in what Ive been saying are youThey weren't sacked or sold for not winning cups, they've been sacked or sold because they weren't good enough or past their sell by date, nothing to do with trophies.
What games in particular are you talking about by the way? I seem to remember that season we played Portsmouth in the Cup semi and they knocked us out and we went onto secure top 4 that season, we had Bale and Modric in our team...we lost the match 2-0 - Portsmouth were on the verge of financial ruin and they finished bottom of the league (and were bottom since match day 2) If you're putting that on the owners then I don't know what to say...
Something to look forward toCAREFUL!!!!
The anti Levy Cult will be calling you a cuck and a bot shortly.

If we are both wrong & enic are actually prioritising trophies then they have clearly failed on this front. But I too think they are happy with scraping top 4 & don’t care for trophies. It has seeped in to the club as we all acted as if we had won the title really. Top 4 is our trophy if we were honest. No one was let off the hook they were all sacked and most of the players have been sold or have left?

I’m not blaming them for miss controlling a ball or not picking up a man at a corner, I’m saying they are responsible for the culture and mentality of the club where results like this happen over many different managers/players/time, Portsmouth game is just an extreme consequence/example of this if you want to fixate on that one game it’s fine it doesn’t take away from the point. We also had a final to win as well. I’m not absolving blame to individual players as at the time I would of criticised them but they move on, new managers and players come in similar happens then you need to start looking deeper. My irony metre is off the charts here...Perhaps you ought to take in what I'm saying - you can answer my question in regards to what matches you're taking issue with and break it down into contextual analysis as opposed to just lumping in every game together as a whole.
I here what you're saying btw, you're absolving blame of anyone who is able to make a tangible difference on the football pitch (you know where it actually counts) and you're putting everything on the board despite the many different circumstances we found ourselves in as to why we couldn't get over the line.
With all due respect, your argument is folly and myopic especially if you're blaming the owners for players missing penalties on the day (for example)
My stance is clear on this, I admitted that ENIC have had other priorities in the past and the finger should firmly be pointed at them for the Mourinho debacle but to solely blame them for our trophy count of 1 in 22 is ridiculous, sorry.
I don't know what you expect from the board, do you want them to go public, do you want DL to jump on Tiktok and apologise, in fact this is the closest you're probably going to get as an apology from Levy when he admitted he took his eye off the ball:
