Our defence was awesome today, they were better than City’s attackThe first half an hour was frantic, and full credit to our lads for keeping them out for so long. Such a shame we couldn't have stretched them a bit more, by releasing the ball to the wings when goods runs into space were being made. As much as it galls me to say, City's passing and movement were breath-taking, and I wondered if they were actually playing at full throttle.
Will you punch up?We didn't lose tonight because of PEH; but still peeps will punch down regardless.......![]()
Very much so, and full credit to them. Very unfortunate that Vic fumbled for City's soft goal. I thought VDV was awesome; an absolute beast of a player. Our defence was awesome today, they were better than City’s attack
Agreed. The tactical foul seems to go largely unpunished early-doors, and I thought there was meant to be a crackdown on such behaviour. It seems that referees are unwilling to give yellows for this early on in games, and this weakness is definitely being exploited. As you rightly say, certain teams definitely gain an advantage from getting away with cynical tackles. You could see the game slipping away from the ref in the last 20-25mins......
Not that they weren't hitting tactical 'disruption' fouls from the 1st whistle.
Same old story tho.... If you're gonna keep your cards in your pocket and ignore accumulation until the final 3rd of the game then you've already allowed the advantage to be taken.
Yep and now it’s all about the tactical foul before the ref thinks it’s a tactical foul.Agreed. I thought such tackles were an automatic yellow card these days, but until referees grow a pair, this won't be the case, and certain teams will keep on getting away with it more than others.Yep and now it’s all about the tactical foul before the ref thinks it’s a tactical foul.
Any foul on purpose with little attempt to play the ball is a tactical foul. The literal definition is a foul committed to gain an advantage. That’s why it’s tactical! Yet there are tactical fouls happening all over the field and it’s never called unless it’s a clear counter attack.
That's how it felt watching the midfield sequences for large parts of the game. Also quite a few 'ifs, buts and maybes'. For example, if City weren't covertly pumped full of oil revenue, they'd be Coventry City.
Take it in the chin ..... they were the better side in the night , probably m the best in Europe at the moment
Not simping for anyone. Just hate Woolwich more as surely every Spurs supporter shouldFuck all that..... It's up to us to finish above Arse each season.... That's on us.
Fuck City; the cheating scum.... Fuck simping for those cunts.
But something has to be done about City's persistent fouling with no cards. It's just beyond joke now.
ExactlyHe was not offside once all game and had not a single chance to fluff.
Doesn't deserve the slightest critique tonight.
Richi saw quite a lot of the ball and worked very hard. But what did he do with the ball? Sometimes if the chances are not being put on a plate for you then you have to create something yourself which he didn’t do. The best attacking players should be able to do this. So i don’t think he is above criticism tonight as you suggest. Has improved his performances for us but not really at the level required in the long runHe was not offside once all game and had not a single chance to fluff.

I don’t think that’s the case when we saw so little of the ball against the best side in the world. R9 at peak wouldn’t pick the ball up deep and be able to attack five or six players and create a chanceRichi saw quite a lot of the ball and worked very hard. But what did he do with the ball?
