*could've been*.... they weren't. big difference

Oh dear another clueless Yank, the whole point is that they could've been, therefore the red card did not turn the game it just compounded our misery. That game may well have finished 5-0 without the sending off. Christ, you are thick. Decent American football fans are so few and far between, much like good managers.

i saw something about AVB losing the locker room :/

is that true? please say no :(

It's true...

Levy was furious when he found out that AVB had lost the ENTIRE (!) locker room. He obviously couldn't let Billy-Boas get away with losing an entire locker room. Someone had to be hung.

They haven't even found it yet, some believe that Billy-Boas took it for himself.

What's with all the blaming the players talk on here?!

Fuck me, it is the managers job to manage. If he loses the players (and I'm not sure there was a heap of evidence for that, what with several positive statements from players in recent weeks, and some good effort from many players despite getting booed and abused by so called fans etc) then it's down to his poor management, or losing belief of players under his guidance. As a person I love AVB and he was not a dreadful manager but he certainly had several obvious faults and made big mistakes repeatedly. that's why he's gone. If you dont agree then ok, but to blame the players who are still at the fucking club. Many who have always been at our club and love the club. How stupid is that? Get behind the team and the club they play for for crying out loud. Be a fan.

Agreed.

We were shit that game....didnt want to be the first to say it though

I was there at the game and Jussi made some stupid saves, Caulker and Ade missed two chances a seven year old would score, we were crap first half better second.... which basically was a theme for a lot of the reign

Yep. Holtby, Sandro, Walker et alias hate his guts. They all came to Levy's office after last night's game and asked him to sack that foreign ginger squirt. It has also been revealed earlier that it was AVB who threw the smoke bomb at the linesman and taught the fans all the vile yid chants (Freund even claims that Andre has a swastika tattooed on his chest).

But did it really though? We won a game against a shit West Ham team by a wonder goal scored in the last minute by a player we all knew we would never hold on to, did it really look that bright?
You telling me that when Bale ran over to AVB to celebrate that goal you didn't feel good about being a Spurs fan? there was no hint that we might be seeing the start of something special developing, with those two as the central figures? It's easy to say in retrospect that we were never gonna hold on to Bale but at that point in the season nobody here was seriously considering the prospect of him leaving anytime soon.

Why are people saying AVB should've had more time? We're halfway into the league and I haven't seen any improvement in the way the team set out to play.

Forget the Europa league performances, the level of football especially in the group games is poor.

Blind faith in the guy just because you like him could've been suicidal. I wanted him to turn it around but it was getting harder and harder to defend him.

Aside from the magic of the moment, there was, for me at least, the hope that Bale might stay as he seemed to be enjoying his football under AVB. Sadly, the rest is history.

Oh dear

Backing AVB over the team, playing staff and Chairman (pretty much the club then)

On the back of the exact same thing happening at Chelsea, wouldnt you even consider the possibility that AVB may not be as perfect and ideal and innocent as you are prepared to believe?

Let me get this straight - you neg rep me, despite not having grasped, that my post is no defence of AVB at all?

Have you read my last few months of posts regarding our performances and our tactics at all?

Oh dear indeed, Sammy. Oh dear indeed.

He just never learnt from his mistakes..
You'd think that anyone who'd just seen their team ripped apart by West Ham without a striker, then 6-0 to Man City would have learnt that the high line is not working, but not this stubborn idiot, he carried on with it so rightly paid the price.
It cost him his job at Chelsea and now with us, he can only blame himself.

That sums my thoughts up quite well, iv defended him strongly for a long time but recently I just felt myself drifting away and I really didn't want to admit it. I'm more hurt than a grown man should be about all of this.

Fucking man crushes.

I know I said some shit yesterday about him,and I was one of them who wanted him gone but daaamn I feel so sorry for the guy..Fuck,when I watch that gif from yesterdays game where he almost starts crying my heart hurts..
Wish you all the best man,get a good team and shit all over your opponents.Show 'em who's da boss.

Fuck he was such a nice guy.. :avbshock:

No matter how you view it, the buck stops with the players - and the board, who are willing to listen to them.

Some things are only clear within hindsigt. For me, after a day of contemplating the shipwreck of our (and I quote)

"long term project" (abandoned after 1½ year, not even 10 pts after the league leaders)

the players stopped playing for AVB a long, long time ago. Some more obvious than others. Players like BAE, Ade, Dembele are obvious examples, but when you just look at hightlight let alone whole games, more than just a few patterns emerge.

That fact makes me ever so sad. Has modern football really come to this?

Let us be perfectly honest: This was not a results decision. We have 22 games to play, 66 pts to play for and we are 5pts after CL, 8 pts after the leaders. Neither was it a quality of football decision. Yes, some of the football has been appalling, some of the pride dented at WHL (twice) and Etihad will be hard to forget for a while.

But we were much, much worse in large periods under Jol, under Ramos and under Redknapp (an entire half a season, in fact) - and the results were even worse.

The buck stops with the players. When he is sacked now, then it is because - and only because - it has come to Levys knowledge, that the players will not be performing for AVB. Not yesterday, not wednesday, not in the next 5-10-15 games. They simply will not. It is deductive logic. One thing is playing poorly. Another thing is, having positive knowledge, that it will not be better, no matter what the manager does.

The timing is a bad as can be; We play WHU, set piece and pressing specialists in 2 days, of the entire defence only 2 fit rightbacks left, Christmas programme lurking and the ex-manager will take entire coaching staff but for Freund (LOL) and Ferdinand (LOOOOOOOL) with him out the door.

Which blatantly implies, that the Liverpool result was not the last drop for Levy. It was planned in advance. Which brings me back to my first point. The results are quite good, the game however is poor and there is no hope of it getting better. No matter what the very expensively sacked manager and his entire backroom staff would have done.

Why? Because the players had enough.

I don't know what you feel. But I would like to see the names of those players and have the publically shamed. And then flogged in the jan transfer window. And I don't even cared whether it is the flops, whether is is the old chums guard, whether it is the AVB outcasts, whether it is our proud captain (who AVB tried to get out this summer - ask me for Meulensteens story, if you care to read it, about just that situation!) or whether it is our IMHO stars like Hugo, Jan and Sandro. I want to players who stabbed the manager, no matter who he was, out right away. They can all just fuck right off.

WELL SAID.

Half of them gave up yesterday. In fact, not just for our sake but for the sake of players like Holtby.who worked their asses of only to be let down by the pricks around them. I don't care if it's half the fricken team!

We are Tottenham Hotspur and we should not be a manager merry go round or a place for mercenaries. We are supposed to be the team in London that is good. So I want the wankers gone, away from our beautiful club before it's ruined.
