Match Chelsea vs Tottenham. Thursday the 2nd of May. 19:30 KO

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

or the people on the match thread saying they've given up and dont care

That counts as negative to me mate
Like match going fans that leave before the final whistle.

How do you know that people who post that they've given up in the match threads because of their disappointment with the performances haven't contributed to the forum financially, and want to have their say?

Surely if Admin permits it then you're just whinging for the sake of it.

It's not good for Postecogkou to talk about Romero's passion as though all players can emulate that show of commitment.

Sure, say he gives everything but was Romero not part of a defence that conceded twice from corners?

It would be like comparing Postecoglou to Klopp.

Fat better to talk of optimum performances or whatever, than to start singling out effort. Sure way for players to start thinking who is it that the manager doesn't think is pulling his weight.

Slippery slope, which also fails to take responsibility.

Trouble is, Villa fans and the club are already getting above their station. If they get that and win the conference league it isnt going to help. That would be a more successful season than I've seen us have since 1991.

I get your point but I'd rather win the league cup than the conference league.

This cup run is a much higher level than anything Villa have faced this season:

Reading a few posters saying they don’t care about tonight and won’t be watching.

People who obviously don’t understand what supporting a club is about. You stick with the club through thick and thin.

And even though we are going through a bad spell, we are still fifth. And about to play one of our main rivals.

If you don’t care about tonight and can’t get yourself up for doing so, you don’t deserve to call yourself a Spurs supporter. And you certainly don’t deserve to enjoy any success we may have in the future.
For me it's not cause we lost against the Gooners , its just football in general at the minute - I used to get such a buzz when we scored , now i'm scared to celebrate in case VAR decides the wind blew Sonnys Barnet offside!
I just feel like all the joy is being taken away from Football at the minute by Shitty refs and VAR!

Really hope Richy starts.

Whether that means Kulu on the right or Johnson on the right (Kulu central), I don't know but he has to start
Deki has been awful in recent weeks but he was the second best player on the pitch against the Gooners. Time to drop Madders, who is just a passenger.

Deki in the 10, Son and Johnson wide of Richarlison.

Most of the Spurs contingent would take a point now if offered, I reckon.

I would. It's not that we shouldn't be capable. It's just that we aren't. Go figure.

We are so predictable when it comes to knowing we will concede, knowing it's likely to be a mistake and that the fans will blame player, Postecoglou and Levy but not necessarily in that order.

Oh and that we will undoubtedly lose.

It’s all about opinions in the end. My opinion is that no true fan spends all, or the majority of their time deriding everything attached to the club they claim to support. I believe no true fan looks at a fixture against Chelsea and decides they can’t be arsed watching. Or don’t want to. It boggles my fucking mind.

You may well think that the sign of a true fan is someone who appears to be constantly waiting for shit to go a bit wrong, before covering this place in their excrement. Taking some kind of perverse enjoyment from posting their “suffering“ for everyone to see. You may thing that a proper fan won’t watch the match tonight. Those are your rights.

But it’s my right to call out such craven behaviour as cunty in the extreme. Weird for me, as I was under the impression I’d weaponised the ignore facility enough to weed out the worst of this place, but the last few days have been ridiculous in their negativity.
I don’t think negativity is a bad thing. One of the good things about a reasonably lawless internet forum is it can help recreate the more visceral aspects of supporting a football team. A genuine and authentic reaction to a side like Spurs is to spend half your time fucking irritated with them. Someone on SC once described Fighting Cock as ‘like a pub where everyone screams cunt at each other’.

And he said that like it was a bad thing.

I draw the line at match threads. I treat them as a similar experience; you support the team.

But, outside of that, being fucking annoyed is not only entirely valid but, I’d argue in a week like this, more reasonable.

Of course I’ll be shouting at the TV tonight. What I would say is that, in my current mood, it’s born more out of my hatred of the Chavs.
