Absolutely nailed it. In fact a lot of posters who belittle our clubs former stature and history seem completely oblivious to the fact that before ENIC we were part of what was recognised as the established BIG 5.
And, lest we forgot, we were instrumental in the gang of 6 that tried to start the biggest bonfire of the lot in breaking away from English football altogether just 4 years ago.

I dont think we'd be invited along now if it happened again.

Surprised this isn't getting more attention.

Romero:

"The truth is, I would say no comment, but...Manchester City competes every year, you see how Liverpool strengthens its squad, Chelsea strengthens their squad, doesn't do well, strengthens again, and now they're seeing results."

"Those are the things to imitate. You have to realise that something is going wrong, hopefully, they realise it."

"The last few years, it's always the same: first, the players, then the coaching staff changes, and it's always the same people responsible.

"Hopefully, they realise who the true responsible ones are, and we move forward because it's a beautiful club that, with the structure it has, could easily be competing for the title every year."

I will try to be serious for once which is not easy for me .

It strikes me we have two brands . The business model which is decent but a tad overrated, ( Levy clearly over cooked the stadium naming rights imho , that market has tanked now) . That is one example of a big miss . Furthermore and only my opinion but I don’t think he saw the NFL going to Brazil and Germany for matches . If you are by far the highest paid CEO in the Prem it’s your responsibility , the buck stops with Levy .

Then there is the football club brand which has been tarnished beyond recognition, we are and have been a laughing stock for quite a long time . It started with Sugar and in all fairness improved somewhat under ENIC , ( amazingly Sugar has an identical trophy hall in about 40% of the time) . However the last season of Poch onwards has been like a very bad dream . We are an irrelevance to most clubs fans , a club to ridicule by our rivals , an absolute joke in the media and finally our CEO seems to be despised by the chairman of other clubs for his disingenuous behaviour, allegedly .

As fans we take no pride in Beyoncé selling out our stadium for 5 nights , no pride in hosting boxing title fights . We did used to take pride in our team , it’s success , it’s style of play . I was certainly never ashamed of my clubs behaviour and its reputation, that started to happen with Sugar for me . Sugar never got it , but he never really pretended that he cared , he liked getting his fat ugly mug in the papers and on TV . Spurs probably got him the Apprentice gig imho, i doubt very much it was Amstrad that sealed the deal . But I digress Levy has played the snake oil salesman for 25 years pretending he cares , pretending he had a cure for our clubs ills . In this posters opinion ENIC are not the cure , they are the cause .

Please cash in your enormous profit , enjoy the spoils of your greed and leave us fans with the hope the new owners are neither as greedy or incompetent.

It’s what Kane should have said out loud but didn’t have engagement capacity to express that.

The fact is it's out there now and can get referenced for ever more and adds more fuel to the fire.
He joins an ever-growing list of former players and managers who are consistently telling us exactly the same thing.
The fact he's actually said this while still at the club is fucking seismic.

The fella has got on my tits as he’s clearly off.

But he’s right.

How fucking dreary we are. Players openly calling out how uncompetitive we are.

Nailed it

Spurs stopped being a club that won things regularly when levy still had hair.
What has he nailed? We underachieved before ENIC and even that small crumb of success has dried up since.

They've owned us for 25 years and we have 1 cup.

25 years. 1 cup.

Listen, I'm not the most rabid anti ENIC poster here. I recognise that they've bought up to a level where we're financially theoretically able to compete with Woolwich and Liverpool. I have no problem with the Karting and concerts, because I recognise we need to bring money in. I have no time at all for whinges about the new stadium, it's fantastic and old WHL was brilliant and iconic but it was time.

But all this good stuff that ENIC have done, and they have, doesn't wash away that a quarter of a century has passed and in that time we've won less trophies than Leicester fucking City. And at the end of the day the football is why we're here and it's the worst run aspect of the entire operation.

Saying "we only used to win two trophies a decade so whats the big deal" doesn't cut it when now we're only winning one every 25 years. It just doesn't.

It is possible to hold the following two positions

I enjoy going to watch my team
I don’t like Levy and ENIC but I’m not going to let them stop me doing something I enjoy , even if they benefit from it

That is not meant as a criticism of those who have chosen not to go , just that position is easier to reconcile , but it’s not the only position.
It's also possible to maintain these 2 positions simulataneously

1) ENIC/Levy have caused more football problems than they have sold
2) Ange still has to go and we need to try something else.

It's not Ange OR Levy. Ange has to go and ultimately, eventually, one day, possibly, Levy will fuck off too.

Fans seem to keep saying "no point sacking Ange, it's Levy"
Levy also got Jol, Redknapp and Poch who all got us punching above our weight. We need that kind of appointment and if it takes 5-10 goes to get it, then have 5-10 goes.

I don’t disagree with his comments but at the same time the players themselves have to take responsibility. This is a World Cup winner who has been culpable for numerous dropped points this season and last.

Lead by example.

Nailed the truth.

We haven't for a pretty long time been a club that has consistently won things.

And with the the way Chelsea and Citu have bought their way to success we have found it even harder to do so.

My personal feelings towards them is similar to you however unlike some I do not hold them solely responsible for our on the pitch failures, we could, and should have won more trophies during their tenure than we have.

I'd still rather they go as we need to be paying more money for wages to bring in better players but like I've said, it's all a bit vacuous and pantomimey nowadays and it's only going to get more so

We are running out of credibility, the idea we can hire 5-10 more guys and we will unearth another gem I think is optimistic. Poch might come back at some point out of sentiment, I am not advocating for this by the way . However I doubt Poch if he was flying at Southampton today leaves for us . I am beginning to lose faith in Ange and will not cry if he goes , but we have had Nuno and Ange for a reason . We are not an attractive project to ANYONE worth their salt.
