Apparently one individual from THFC has been confirmed as having C19

Let's hope it's not Eric, he's in the high risk group, what with all his underling health issues.

What can I say about Lamela?
Looks decent when he plays , has a good eye for a ball and some decent dribbling and really good passion.
However his injury record is just atrocious. If the guy wasn't injured at all he'd probably be our next best attacker behind Kane and Son , but injuries always derail him and I'm bored of having a player only available for 25% of our season.

Never.

He was never a scorer like Kane or Son.

Creates alot though.

He's our 3rd most effective attacker this season behind both Kane and Son when it comes to goals/assists per 90 minutes. In front of Dele, Lucas and Bergwijn.

Shame he's had such a horrible time with injuries because there really hasn't been many better at playing that eye of the needle ball over his time here than Lamela - he was always better than Eriksen at that (and corners) - but Eriksen had this sweet technique that allowed him to just create from anywhere. The Dele goal vs Chelsea in the FA Cup Semi Final for example.

Over the last 2 seasons:

Son - involved in 55 goals in 5729 minutes (64 games) - involved every 1.3 games
Kane - involved in 49 goals in 5572 minutes (62 games) - involved every 1.3 games
Lamela - involved in 19 goals in 2935 minutes (32 games) - involved every 1.6 games.
Eriksen - involved in 33 goals in 5719 minutes (63 games) - involved every 1.9 games.
Bergwijn - involved in 3 goals in 562 minutes (6 games) - involved every 2 games.
Dele - involved in 30 goals in 5647 minutes (63 games) - involved every 2.1 games
Lucas - involved in 27 goals in 5745 minutes (64 games) - involved every 2.4 games.

Sadly, all the others (bar Bergwijn) have played nearly double the minutes.

Lucas is the worry. He's played more minutes than anyone and has been involved inless goals than half-arsed Christian Eriksen, who left in January and 'overrated' Dele Alli and has actually played further forward than both within that time.

I still think there will be more to come from Lucas, he's been unfortunate IMO in that Poch didn't use him all that much, and under Mourinho aside from the first few games he's been the only constant through an injury crisis that almost crippled us as an attacking force. With Kane and Son also available hopefully he'll get more time, space and service to contribute more. Definitely not cut out to be the main man but hopefully as a supporting act he'll produce more.

He was great today. Man of the match, in my opinion, despite missing some passes particularly in the final third. Was a strange substitution. Had it been made by a competent manager, I could have thought that Lamela was pulled to match him carefully to avoid injuries, but I do not think Mourinho is man managing like that.

He sets the tone every game, lovely stuff, get aggressive but like normal alot of his touches didn't come off, looks much better in he no.10 position

Unfortunately, the tone he sets is shit coloured. He didn't provide one moment of quality and missed countless passes. Yes, he puts in a shift and puts himself about a bit but he blunts us as an attacking force. No where near good enough for us.

Do you need a catscan or something?

This has been going on for years and it won't change. Some love him for his hustle and work rate while others loathe him for his lack of quality. It's not going to change, we should respect each others' viewpoints and leave it at that.
He’s was demonstratively our best player the entire time he was on. Held the ball well, kept position, shuttled it forward, consistently pester United’s midfield. This is not the match to say Lamela was bad.

Far from having a 'lack of quality' I'd say he's one of the most technically gifted players in our squad.

His problem is he's very injury prone and hence struggles to settle into a rhythm as he's always in and out of the team, so his performances are very inconsistent. He's too unreliable to build a team around but he can 'do a job' in a few ways.

But the the numerous passes he misses. He had opportunities to play players in and just doesn't see them. He played in a main attacking role and didn't create anything or pose a serious goal threat.
