Always liked Paul Allen and felt he was very underrated. He was a real workhorse and I was very disappointed when we let him go as I still think he had plenty to offer. Samways did play well but I didn’t really enjoy watching him much in general at Spurs- I felt his nickname Vinny “Sideways” was well earnt. I think when he went to Mallorca all that sun must have affected him because I think he like many Brits abroad turned into a bit of an animal and he got sent off at least six times!
Great day out and what an atmosphere as today’s replay showed. FA Cup was magic in those days
Agree very underated was Allen. Samways wasn't that bad compared to some of the shit we had from 93 onwards. Loved that 90/91 season the expectations before it started.
Did we sign anyone that summer after the world cup? Can't think of anyone.

I think we bought Gordon Durie for a lot of money. He always seemed to do well against us for Chelscum but I remember being very underwhelmed by his achievements with us. Can’t remember anyone else though

"Where's Your Double Gone, Where's Your Double Gone!"

Amazing day, I remember going mental after the third goal went in and I somehow ended up a good thirty feet away from my seat.

I've wiped all memories of the '93 Semi-Final.

Was that the game football focus did a preview pre-match in pubs? Seem to remember them speaking to spurs fans perhaps not that game though?

SERIOUSLY? That's something you'd say about the CL Final, or the FA Cup Semi in '93...
But as for the '91 game, I watched nothing BUT re-runs of it for the entire Summer... ESPECIALLY as we won the thing!

That sounds like summit VERY dodgy and Cockney! :nawty::harryhmm:

Especially if he was called ‘Charlie’!

Was so excited in the build up to this game. Queued overnight to get tickets from Spurs ticket office. I think it was the first Wembley Semi-final and I know loads didn’t get tickets. Even in those post Hillsborough days when football wasn’t as popular for a few years this match could probably have sold out twice over. I can remember the cocky gooners thinking they were gonna stuff us and for once it was Woolwich who didn’t turn up. From memory we played so well in the first half and were 2-0 up before big nose Smith scored just before half time and I was thinking here we go. But then Lineker squeezed a shot through spunky’s hands and the rest as they say is history.....

Yep. :)

30 years ago! Remember it like yesterday but can’t remember what my missus just told me!

I was 16, had a full head of hair and a spring in my step...

Still my best live sporting moment, what a day, ended up about 20 rows below when Gazza scored! The

when I finally got home I was told to go to my room , as my West Ham bro was in bits after their semi final, glorious end to a glorious day!
Was a great day + can’t believe it was 30yrs ago! Terry Vegetables outthought Wenger that day with the way he set out the team.Celebrations went on in the stadium for ages.Remember getting home to Uxbridge just in time for 1 pint as the pubs shut Sunday afternoons back then 😱

A friend just sent me a text saying in the last 25 years and if Chelsea win the FA Cup that 16 times it would have been won by them in total. And us not once.

Unbelievable and shameful.
