Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I totally agree with the sentiment that if we win the Europa League, it won’t be due to Ange’s managerial prowess; it’ll be down to the players’ commitment, motivation and their desire to win something. They’ll be the ones dragging this team across the finish line, not him.

As far as I’m concerned, the Premier League is the true barometer of a manager’s quality. It’s the ultimate test of consistency, tactical acumen, and the ability to motivate and adapt. And on all those fronts, Ange has failed massively, I would even say he is one of the worst managers I have ever seen in the PL’s history tbh.

Let’s not allow a potential trophy to rewrite the narrative here and allow emotions to cloud reality.

The last thing this club should do is make the colossal mistake of keeping him on next season, regardless of any silverware he may fluke himself into.

This is ridiculous sorry, because last night everyone was ready to jump on him due to his "weird" team selection in which he clearly planned for Bodo which was to physically out do them and it worked, that's not on the players...they didn't pick the team, the manager did.

You can want the manage gone but acknowledge that he's not a good coach and not right for the club...you're allowed to hold two schools of thought.it's okay.

Lets be fair in our appraisal just like our with our criticism.

Funny isn't it. There's a few different types of fans on here:

- Fans that want us to lose because they hate Ange

- Fans that want us to win, but when we do they make excuses for it (opposition were weak, had injuries etc.) Because they hate Ange

- Fans that want us to win, but when we do make statements about it 'being in spite of Ange', 'the players won that, not Ange' - Because they hate Ange

- Then there's the fans that analyse the performance and acknowledge that Ange may have got that one right. Even in the horror season we've had, and even if they dislike him, he may deserve credit for getting that one right at least.
(These people are labelled rats for taking a analytical view instead of an over-emotional, spiteful one)

I am Ange out btw, but I hope we win the EL, and if we do because of his tactical decisions then I'll certainly give him the acknowledgement he would deserve.

Said months ago had feeling would win EL...like Ange and listening to players they still think he's good manager...he's made mistakes and wouldn't surprise me if got sack but new manager, same players, same board, same chairman...can't be anywhere near position in league again but I would stick and give one more chance

Ange is almost certainly past the point of no return now but people need to let that go and enjoy the ride.

You can credit Ange for having a plan that worked against Bodo and not have to discus his future every second of the day.

I’m hoping we win the EL and that means Ange will have won the EL. I want him to cup his ear to the fans with the trophy in his hand and ride off into the sunset. He’ll get another job and Spurs fans will be happy that a new manager is coming in to manage a squad that knows how to win trophies.

Sorry but this is the highest level of football and we can’t defend for shit. We score some really beautiful goals under him but playing like this even with RM will get you close to relegation.

M8 I agree and only in job because of EL but at same time not won anything in years now...we win for first time in years also in CL next year only my opinion but give chance early on next season to see if has gained experience of league

Relegation scrap if he stays on next season.
IF he wins and stays on, he’ll be gone before Christmas if there’s any sign of a similar season and any available ‘steady hand’ brought in, whatever the cost (see Redknapp, Conte). No way this happens for a second consecutive season - especially not if Fabio IS back whispering sweet nothings to DL.

Too much risk of getting absolutely hammered week-in, week-out in CL and the loss of revenue from that. Levy’s gambled loss of Prem revenue against CL qualification money this year. If he stays and there’s any signs of the fuck-ups carrying on, he’ll be gone - probably by first international break.

We probably need to take into account that this wasn’t Bodo at full strength, and they were away at one of the best stadiums in Europe against an incredibly wealthy team and the intimidation that may bring and that - despite that - we somehow let a goal in and had two key players (Solanke, Madders) come away with injuries.

I really hope we win the whole lot - and comfortably - and I don’t really care who the coach is, I just want to feel like we might do okay in most games and not concede a boatload of goals at any given time.

TLDR - Cool - we won- Bodo had half a team and were away - still scored - Bodo reserves aren’t all that.

He wont be staying. He knows it. Every utterance he makes is for his next job not for this one. The club are going to lose £30m from finishing 16th or 17th instead of 5th or 6th, the constant injuries to players, the spats with the fans, likely our record number of league defeats in a season and worst league position in 48 years. Its gone way past the point of no return. Beating AZ, Frankfurt, Bodo and Man U isnt going to change anything ( if we do which is dubious). Add in Vinai and Paratci wanting their own man. No idea how good they'll be but they strike me as professional at the very least, it wont be wet wipes like Munn and Lange who have handled this like rabbits in headlights.

Totally

The amount of people when the team sheet was announced that still wanted Spence (despite him being totally out of form) rather than Udogie or Porto who happened to be just about our best 2 on the night
The amount of people that didn’t want Johnson playing, they were shut up after 40 seconds
The amount that didn’t want Richarlison starting and thought we were playing 442, well fans were wrong on that also.

Ange has been dreadful this season, should have been out of a job months ago, but on Thursday he got it right and a lot of our “supporters”, a term I use in a very loose sense, because they really aren’t, had eggs on their faces but will never admit it, and it will always be other reasons why we won.

100% on both points

Lange and Mann have been disastrous. Weak yes men, need strong, decisive characters to counter the meek, snivelling rat at the top

It's sad that people can't enjoy a win and letting their agendas dictate their feelings.

I really wonder if people will be happy if we win this comp or pissed off that Ange has managed to prove them wrong...people who put their whole ego before the club they claim to support STINK

Agree

I would tend to side with Ange67 if there had been an uptick in the PL post injuries, but there hasn’t. Our attacking play has dried up and still very easy to score against
