He wont be staying. He knows it. Every utterance he makes is for his next job not for this one. The club are going to lose £30m from finishing 16th or 17th instead of 5th or 6th, the constant injuries to players, the spats with the fans, likely our record number of league defeats in a season and worst league position in 48 years. Its gone way past the point of no return. Beating AZ, Frankfurt, Bodo and Man U isnt going to change anything ( if we do which is dubious). Add in Vinai and Paratci wanting their own man. No idea how good they'll be but they strike me as professional at the very least, it wont be wet wipes likes Munn and Lange who have handled this like rabbits in headlights.
I hope so- it’s just there’ll be a lot of pressure to hold onto him on the off-chance he wins the EL. I can’t really see what spin you can put on removing a coach who has won the first major trophy in a long time (this is much more than the LC).

I hope I’m wrong and they’re a mutual parting of the ways and a reset over summer. But, you know…been supporting us since the ‘80s so we’ve been through a lot!

If we win it will be dressed up as mutual consent. Even he'd know its the best time to get out of here if he wants another half decent job. I'm not even sure if he wants to be here anymore. If he stayed then the writings on the wall the moment we lose 2 or 3 on the trot, which given our form over the last 15 months would probably be in September. He wont have Munn protecting him this time.

This is ridiculous sorry, because last night everyone was ready to jump on him due to his "weird" team selection in which he clearly planned for Bodo which was to physically out do them and it worked, that's not on the players...they didn't pick the team, the manager did.

You can want the manage gone but acknowledge that he's not a good coach and not right for the club...you're allowed to hold two schools of thought.it's okay.

Let’s be fair in our appraisal just like our with our criticism.
I gave ange big credit for Frankfurt away, but bodo home game it really wasn’t some tactical masterclass to start Richarlison lol. Any combination of forwards he selected in that game would have got the job done against that bodo side. Our team is just that much better than theirs, might be harsh but I actually think we could of completely killed the tie that night.

I'd be shocked to think if anyone thought it was some sort of 'tactical masterclass' the point is that just give credit where it's due...it's embarrassing people going on about the players winning in spite of the manager...you can say winning the match was a collective achievement and leave it at that.

Agree with almost everyone that shocking this season in league...also agree if out of all cups and current league position time to go but its not...needs to win EL then deserves chance first few games next season...if doesnt then time to go...changing manager every few years doesn't work...no trophys but same time only so many chances he can get?

No, if he wins the cup he deserves his part of the credit for it in the same way he deserves all the criticism he gets for the league campaign.

However there is no world in which he should be here next season, if he is, it just writes next season off from the beginning. Him winning the EL and then a mutual separation is the best result for him, for us, and for everyone involved in the club.

People just need to enjoy us being close to winning a trophy again, the rest will all sort itself out at the end of the season. Every conversation here is ending up as people doing negative mental gymnastics whilst arguing with self confessed trolls - it’s easier when you just step away a bit and enjoy the fact that we might be on the verge of some much needed success, regardless of how you rate that level of success.

Gonna just say it ... Everything he SAYS here has an element of truth about it....

Sadly, everything we DO just proves further that everything he says is true!

We did fear the worst when they scored, cos that's happened before, and it's gone badly ..

But being bullishly confident despite that has an air of arrogance about it that just doesn't fit with a Spurs fans DNA...
save the y arrogance for Gooners...

Or maybe That's THE POINT?
A bit of arrogance does sew the seed of doubt in the OPPOSITION minds.. like we're NOT gonna let one singlle goal ruin a memorable exceptional night!

...and fuck it, Ii won't... It WON'T ruin the night,
It coulda finished 3-0 and they just scored that goal 1st minute of the 2nd leg and we'd be in the same position as we are now...
They got their consolation in early, that's all!

It's MIND games... And that works BOTH ways!

I've said before, but as and when Ange leaves ( genuinely think he should be found a role in the club as a motivational speaker or mentality coach... Cos the modern players seem to love a bit of all that!!!!

I'm almost serious!

Levy = Great businessman, lousy at football
Ange = Great Speaker, lousy at the football bit!

There's a pattern emerging.

It's sad that people can't enjoy a win and letting their agendas dictate their feelings.

I really wonder if people will be happy if we win this comp or pissed off that Ange has managed to prove them wrong...people who put their whole before the club they claim to support STINK
I'd say a percentage will be seriously pissed off if it happens and we won it under Ange. The agenda will be that it's 'only' a second rate comp, the teams in it are weak, and top 4 is the bigger priority.

Ange will go, and 6 months later they'll be calling for Levy's head because we've only won 1 trophy in 17 years....

I mean you don't have to imagine, I'm already reading comments by the usual idiots saying this.

That's ur opinion should be gone...more than likely majority agree with u but how many times can we change manager until realise doesn't work...we could appoint any title winning manager and it wouldn't make one bit of difference...I agree not good enough this season and should be sacked if wasn't for EL but is CL next year and trophy better than finishing 6th or 7th continually?...position in league is embarrassing and can't happen again but if win EL I think give him first 5 games no change then needs to leave

You’re right in the sense that we can’t keep being on the same cycle, but two things can be true. We can try to break a cycle, whilst also realising that we need a better manager in place first off to help us break that.

I disagree that appointing any title winning manager wouldn’t make a difference. Any half decent premier league level manager would have this squad, as it is today, higher than the position it’s currently in. This squad may not be the greatest but it isn’t the worst team outside of the relegation places which is where we basically are currently.

If you brought back any of our last 4 or 5 managers they would have this exact squad higher, because they’re better managers (by a long way) than Ange is. Just the change in tactics, mentality, set up, play style, all of it would have us higher.

There is also no reason this squad can’t consistently qualify for Europe AND win trophies. It doesn’t have to be a choice between 6th/7th OR win something.

Levy needs to go and we need to change a lot at board level, but the easiest fix is get a premier league level manager in and start on the pitch whilst everything else is being worked on (Levy and co will take longer).

He’s proven over more than a season that he isn’t good enough for the Premier league, and giving Ange five games most likely just means we are five games off of where we want to be from the outset next season. It also means that managers have moved about and got new clubs, and we have to look at the pool of out of work managers or second choices again. It’s just not worth it. He’s proven he’s not up to it at this specific level.

All credit to him if he wins the EL, but for me, it’s credit and then still separate, long term we’re going no where consistently with him.

Can't disagree with most of what u said other than what did the last 4 or 5 managers achieve? Also it was Ange that assembled squad that they would supposedly turn us into winners...why didn't they do that?...being 5th and 6th every single year is no where near good enough...as said only my opinion and respect what ur saying

I mean it’s true, nothing they did actually got over the line - this is our club for years though right so they can all only really be used here to highlight that when it comes to it, Levy won’t give them what they need for that final push over the line. The board is clearly the main problem here.

Though I think it’s only fair to say that Poch finishing 2nd and consistently having us in the CL whilst also making a few semi’s and finals deserves credit, and we did it whilst playing attractive people and fans felt more connected to the club.

I’m not sure I understand your second bit, is it that Ange assembled a squad that SHOULD have turned us into winners?

Agree completely, 6th/7th every year isn’t good enough. However I think under the current ownership we will never have what we need to push for league titles, they don’t have the footballing ambition for it. However I do think that we, on the very least, should be capable to consistently finish in the CL or EL whilst picking up some league, FA, and EL trophies - that shouldn’t be beyond our reach at all.

It's just frustrating and someone needs time to build something?...if its not Ange then at least another 2-3 years mid table under new manager...personally I would rather give him first few games next year only if win EL than start again and again and again
