Maybe he finds it relaxing to sit in a room for a few hours, watching a game he has no investment in, and talking Football with his peers.I don’t really think it will affect hos ability to do his job at Spurs come pre-season, though I can see the benefit of a full on rest.
What I can't get my head around is his motivation to do it, financially surely he has no need for it, so I can only imagine it's because he craves the spotlight? Does that matter to his ability to do the Spurs job? No, not really, but it's not an overly desirable trait either...
Personally, if I were in that position, I'd be spending my 6 week holidays by a beach doing absolutely fuck all, not sat in a studio bored to tears by whatever drab 0-0 draw ITV pick up for their Tuesday lunch time viewing, surrounded by endless interchangeable gobshites spouting hollow soundbites.
Yes.He sought it by accepting it? That's some screwed up logic right there.
As for being 'totally consumed with this job.' Have a word.
You're applying a standard to someone that you obviously don't follow yourself, unless you're a professional poster on TFC.
He gets to sit in a studio and talk about a Football game every now and then. Why you're making an absolute drama out of this is mystifying.
Your obsession with Shady is rather disturbing.Ol' slim shady in the bin....

Never mindShadydan
I'm sure it's only a perceived binning
Will give you more free time, you'll be cooking brudda
ok

ok
I suggest you look up the definition of sought. Accepting is not seeking.Yes.
He could have declined the offer.
"Applying a standard..."
I'm simply expecting a new manager, that has come to a club that has been in constant turmoil - and not done anything of real note in his first season - to reject other gigs...because, you know, he's got enough on his plate.
I don't care that he's sitting in a studio and 'that's all...blah, blah, blah'.
It's off-job and is a bad signal.
Others think it's fine.
I don't.
Not really.
Well you know what, I'm gonna reply even harder. Cause you've been wasting everyones time.
If you cannot understand how views can change in 4 months time, you could be used as an illustration to word "imbecile" in directionary. Shows you made up your mind from day 1 and never ever took any new info on board. Considering new info is "mental gymnastics".
You can stop reading and responding here, I'll explain things to people who can understand time and added info -
- 4-5 months ago we were all waiting for number of key players to return to pitch and to full fitness;
- slump in form at the time was understandable, as we were without any established CB's, without our best creative player, without our top scorer and without two main CM's from first half of the season;
- after that ALL of them returned and stayed mostly healthy and available;
- despite having them back, our form DID NOT really improve;
- and after season was concluded, Transfermarkt compiled data, showing that our injury issues were FAR from worst in the league.
So yes, absence of players felt like the obvious reason of our slump in period of November-December-January. But ever since February we have had most core players available.
So having suffered end of the season where
With last 11 games we...
Scored 12 and conceded 22 (!); so on average scored 1 and conceded 2 goals
Won 4, drew 1, lost 6
Went to longest losing spree in decades (!)
Gathered 13 points (so 1,2 ppg!)
....without any major injury issues - yes, it makes one think that there is something else inherently wrong and maybe historically too much emphasis was put on the injuries.
He could mug up on our history and learn why we don’t like Woolwich.So, going back to my earlier question, what does he do when the vast majority of his players are away on international duty, train the cones?
After the last few weeks, I think he's FULLY aware of why we don't like the filth, but we've drawn a line under that and moved on haven't we?He could mug up on our history and learn why we don’t like Woolwich.
You’re obviously right. He can do what he wants. But, likethinktank , I didn’t like how he conducted himself in the last few weeks. Too much talking about how great he thinks he is. I don’t really want to see him chumming it up in the studio and being everyone’s best mate. It’s irritating.
Anyway, as you say, he can obviously do what he wants.
Do you reckon he'd be watching the Euro's on TV at home, if he wasn't watching the games in a studio?I'm looking forward to hearing more from him.
You know we'll be linked to some players from teams he'll be watching. Perhaps we'll get some ITK from him on real time that Hercules will then dismiss as wrong!
Bring on the summer!
Dude, chill!If my posts are too bizarre then seriously don't read them. But that isn't everything I was pointing out. I was trying to be polite so I don't get jumped on for being an Ange hater, but honestly, do you actually not understand that Pep won 2 out of 2 against Ange, and lost 5 times to 4 other managers, or are you just ignoring that fact? When I say who is Pep beating? I don't mean Spurs do I? Is it the Tottenham crowd? The players? Or is it our winning manager who the media says is a winner? Because I think it is the latter.
And why would I bring that up in a thread about Ange going to the media? I don't know. Maybe because Pep hates the media and is better than Ange. And if you are saying Pep is shit for not beating Mourinho or Conte, then what does that make Ange? The same Ange who is in the media as a winner and all the Tottenham fans are wrong for standing up to on one occasion during 5 out of 6 losses.

Exactly.Do you reckon he'd be watching the Euro's on TV at home, if he wasn't watching the games in a studio?
Do you think he'd be analysing those games, from a professional perspective, when he's watching those games on his sofa?
I do, and I'm sure you do too.
And he's getting paid to do it as well!
State of some of the people in here.
But he's got cones to coach...Exactly.
A summer consumed in football, surrounded by football people, watching players in a transfer window...?
How could that possibly be a benefit?!
That’s true.What you see as arrogance, I see as self belief. He has to change the culture of our club, he's not going to do that by downplaying himself.
