Great trophy win but I won't be blinded by our league form better teams know how to play us and win we are easy to play against while I get sentimentality I would hate to write off next season by November. It wasn't a great game yesterday and I see nothing to suggest we will improve next season by dominating games. In case you didn't know, it's far tougher to get into a CL final than to win the EL.
Bodø-Glimt were in the EL ...because they lost to Red Star in last CL qualification round. Red Star didn't make it out of the CL group stage.
Besides, your logic is based on wrong assumptions: when Spurs won the UEFA the previous times the UEFA was actually considered almost hard to win as the then European cup. So winning the UEFA back then was much more of an achievement than now.

With CL qualification the prize the Europa League is a serious competition, Crystal Palace have never threatened to make the CL places in the PL in my memory but next season they have a chance of a route into CL by winning the Europa and judging by the way they have played recently they could do well in the competition.

EL is a much better comp to win than FA Cup or League Cup.
