Nobody has any evidence or anything to show that keeping Ange is the right decision for the club. It's just sentimentality and vibes.Because all the evidence suggests it will be a massive gamble and wrong decision to continue with him.


The only thing to do is to thank him for Bilbao and part ways. It makes too much sense.

Install a manager who can actually organise a team, who is tactically balanced, who can implement a SUSTAINABLE style of play that will have us fighting at the top end of the table AND also be able to hold our own in the CL.

Ange is not that person in anyway shape or form.

The only reason people want to keep Ange is because they like him.

He is a winner in the Europa. Well we aren't in that next season. Ange will get battered in the CL

I'm ecstatic over the fact we are Europa league champions! Our first major trophy in 17 years! Respect and congratulations to everyone involved in achieving this magnificent fete. But! and you knew it was coming....
This amazing achievement can be micro analysed and should be, and if you are going to then you have to look at the competition we faced and where we currently sit in the premier league table.
Has it really taken an exceptional manager to produce what he has with the squad he had, injuries included, to produce what we have?
A dummed down EL and 17th in The EPL. All with turgid displays of football. The bottom line for me is this manager with all his verbal bollocks with the press and towards the loyal, committed fan base is not fit to wear the shirt and should leave with his head held high (Trophy Winner) and our thanks for Bilbao, but never darken our door again!

In the end although to get the trophy we had 25% pocession which must one of the lowest ever. Even forest manage more. It was pure Jose / conte ball to the max. Which is what most people didn’t want. If he can’t marry the attacking football with some solidity then we are in for same as this season in the league.

That would be terrible....if it was remotely true. This JUST when first choice defence starts, not allowing for other creative players being available.

Not sure I agree here. He tends to walk when he feels the job is done more often than not. He'd achieved pretty much what he went there to do at Sth Melbourne, Brissy, Melbourne, Yokohama, Celtic etc and moved onto the next challenge/rebuild so I don't think he'll do it here at all as he's just started the job. He's regenerated the squad, brought many of the youngsters through (many out of injury necessity) and won a trophy but knows that the next step is to make the side competitive in all comopetitions season long which he felt he didn't have the depth to do this season with the injuries etc. It's all well and good for people to suggest all teams have injuries, and they do, but it's the quality/experience of who comes in to replace the injured player that has a huge influence and Spurs just haven't had the depth behind the first line to really compete this season but with CL on offer and I'd imagine an even further reduce wage bill as a result of so many youngsters there is some room now to add the quality to offset injury losses as well as upgrade the squad overall. He'll want to stay to continue the process of making the side competitive everywhere now, and I think he will if he remains, whether he gets the opportunity is another thing.

Yep I agree.
My comment was more in the vein of what he did with the Socceroos because he felt he didn’t have the support from the federation, and if that’s a similar sentiment he has with Levy and the board.
Mind you his comments over the last few days, and in particular at the parade, suggest he’s staying on. Well he wants to, whether Levy see’s it that way.
He’s done what he was brought in to do so I can’t see Levy sacking him. Won a trophy, back in CL, blooded loads of youngsters, changed the style, changed the culture whilst dealing with an unprecedented injury crisis. We all agree about the league position, but when you look at it all in totality he’s done a pretty good job.

Two things can be right, there is some genuine decision making to be done because you have to balance the idea of us winning something against long term form. However whole swathes of this forum seem to be more interested in mud slinging because on a given day their view seems to be slightly more correct than the other. It’s just mental to watch, genuinely think both sides have numerous posters who are more interested in being ‘correct’ and calling other posters names than they are actually bothered about the long term future of the club, and that’s before you even get to those who love nothing more than to log on, flip flop between the two and call both sides names depending on which way the wind is blowing that day. Mental.

You have to have objective standards for wanting a manager in or out. For me, it is the trend line. Are Spurs better at the end of each season than the start, and better or worse than at the start of the project? The first question is difficult to answer because you have the cup at the end, but the team looked worse as the season progressed in league matches. For the project overall, there was a strong start last season and turbulence after that. But, again, Ange supporters will look at the trophy as wiping out any negatives. Then you move onto whether there are logical reasons to think things will improve next season over this. That's difficult as well, because you can't really get any worse in the Premier League matches so people will point to a normal season as a massive turnaround. If we're now just trophy hunters and that's all, there's tremendous pressure on Postecoglou to keep winning trophies while winning enough Premier League matches to survive. The last thing I'd note, and this would be a check mark for him, is he at least pulled back some from absolute adherence to his system. Maybe there's hope he's learned, but how much of the adaptability was due to injuries and how much was a reappraisal? I'm resigned to him returning, but I think the ice is thinner next season because the excuses will be mostly gone.
