It took Sir Alex 7 years to win his first Premier League.

Mason and co. finished 8th with Kane. We sold Kane and you still expected us to do as well as Conte did? You need to wake up. Ange never had a chance when he took this job. Frank will be in the same back to square one position.

Since when did prime Sir Alex or Jose have the 7th best team in wages in the league? Where exactly do you think Frank will finish? Better than 8th with Europe? Because even Ancelotti couldn't win a damn thing with Everton and I think he is better than Frank for managing an average club with European football and the Premier League in his first season.

If Ange isn't winning anything again with Spurs it will be because he is sacked before he can, just like every other manager - not backed with better substitutes for the likes of Romero and Bissouma as an example.

Levy is Abramovich without the wage structure and world class recruitment. Frank is a Nuno type appointment in terms of he did well at smaller club and we're trying to reverse engineer the Poch signing again without the adequate recruitment department to back any manager for any trophies.

Ange beat Man City twice this season, once in the FA Cup. He beat Liverpool once this season in the League Cup. Those are things he could not do in his first season. If he had his first choice back 7 fit and made the full backs sit he could get a result against anybody. Obviously a lot of that is his fault but some of it is not and I expect him to improve.

If he stays, I expect him to finally beat Woolwich next season and I expect him to do better domestically in the league and the cups. If it is going tits up after ten games, sack him like Ramos.
The problem is, it's been going tits up since game 11 of 2023.

Why don't you actually look at the teams Ange put out in the back end of the season and actually use that loaf on your shoulders instead?

I'm fairly confident that no other team in the league started with both its first choice centre backs out for more than 50% of the season. And that's just the one position I deigned to mention.

Look at the lineups from about Feb-Mar onward, look at the injuries, look at European fixtures and the lineups he fielded around the same time. And then come back here and tell me with a straight face that he didn't sack off the league.

Ange is a bad coach who doesn't know how to coach players into playing better. He doesn't know how to do any other tactic than his crap ange ball.

You seem to think we only have a real chance of winning if we are to start Romero and VdV together. And that we can only judge Ange off of those games. Well, actually it just a serves as a big control to show that Ange has NO effect on the squad whatsoever- he's apparently entirely incapable of winning games without those two playing together, and deserves no blame for doing it.

Basically you all are arguing he is powerless to do anything. You're all saying the only determinants of if we can be expected to be competitive is if we are playing with both Romero and VdV.

Well if that's true it means Ange has no capability to positively affect the team- the entire determinants of his success or not are if Romero and VdV can play together.

That's not coaching. We have better backup CBs that some Prem teams have starting CBs, and naive fans like yourself somehow have been conned into believing that we have no hope, and Ange no responsibility, if Romero and VdV can't play together.

It's a bullshit argument that completely infantilizes Ange even as you all think it saves him.

Fucking hell...

A disgraceful thing for any competitive team to admit, let alone one of the ten richest clubs on the planet, who have invested 400 million in to the coach. Sacking the entire league off because otherwise we couldn't possible manage our way past Frankfurt, Bodo and AZ to a final? What the hell does this say about Ange if he needs to do that to achieve those results?!

It's nonsense anyway. The players & coach can pretend we were shit in the league because they didn't try but it's just a load of cope from them. No top level players are just not giving a shit for premier league games and it was clear how furious Ange was in loads of matches in the league. We were absolutely diabolical in the league long before winning the Europa became our last hope anyway, it's just pure bullshit excuses pretending we can just turn on or off winning in the league.
He played weakened teams it is there in black and white. Go back and look at the lineups in the league.

It's mad to me that you haven't even picked up on this when its fairly common knowledge and hardly a secret as the players and people close to the club have even said as much...

It's not cope at all. Take Saliba and Gabriel both out of Woolwich's lineup for half a season along with other key players and replace them with a bunch of kids that they bought in the summer for the future and they would be struggling as well.

The path was dictated to him by the injuries and he sacked off the league. It was a ballsy move, that could only really be justified as the bottom three were all but relegated by March. And it paid off.

I disagree- you're just giving him a free pass when he can't play those two.

Fulham have worse starting CBs than our backups. They took 4/6 from us this year.

This argument about him sacking off the league. How many games did he actually sack off? By which I mean clearly rotated players to prioritise the Europa.

West Ham away
Forest at home
Palace at home
Villa away
Brighton at home (we had already won the Europa at this point tbf)

So only really 4 matches.

I'm not sure I buy the argument that he downed tools since February.

He played weakened teams because we had already been so bad in the league that we were left in no man's land. Let's not act like he made that decision out of choice, it was because we were already so crap that he saw the EL as by far the easiest way to achieve anything.

Not to mention, weakened teams shouldn't mean unable to beat Ipswich or Leicester.

They probably wouldn't finish anywhere near 17th.

Dictated to him by the injuries haha, jesus. We were awful in the league before injuries and we were awful at the end of last season without injuries. It was dictated to him by his own shoddy management skills, there was nothing "ballsy" about it, it was unprofessional bullshit based on utterly failing to compete against teams in England so throwing everything behind the Europa which was an easier target.

And actually fucking won it.

If the board and Levy had their eyes on the league, he should be sacked at Feb.

What a ridiculous argument.

He wasn't sacked because it would've meant Mason and the club for whatever reason wanted him to see out the season.

You don't keep a manager in charge due to a cup run, unless it's the champions league. We finished fucking 17th.

I'm not giving him a free pass. On the contrary he gets 10 games and he better be hovering around the top 6 or he has to go.
That's been my position all along, that's not a free pass.

Did Fulham have 20+ injuries? Did Fulham at one point have literally and entire first 11 in the physio room around the busiest time of the season? Did Fulham have to play an extra 15+ games in Europe? Plus go deep in the Carabao?

Why are you comparing us to Fulham? Did Fulham just win the 3rd most prestigious trophy on offer?

Did they fuck

I see a lot of misconceptions about people who are Ange in or are undecided. Nobody is saying 17th in the league was good, just that they believe it won't be anywhere near 17th next season. And that even if it is not top 5 we will have another trophy. I mean Frank did well with a lower budget club, but the jump straight to Champions League is too undeserving, and too much to guarantee any silverware or CL football again. If Ange fails, Inzaghi makes more sense in terms of experience on the CV. Even Glasner at least has winning experience.
Finally. Thank you.

Fulham took 4/6 points this season, with a much worse squad, worse funding, worse coach (apparently to some... lol), and they did it to who some of you have been calling "the champions of europe".

It's entirely a fair thing to compare us to.
