Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Everyone worried about losing Kane if Conte goes - why? Kane isn’t the player he was 2-3 years ago. We should have cashed in and reinvested when City came calling.

He’s slow, injury prone and a liability these days.

He's not injury prone. Since his breakthrough there has only been 2 seasons where he hasn't played 30 or more PL games

He's 2nd in the goal scoring charts to haaland at this time. World class strikers are hard to come by and it would have been madness to sell him to city when the club was a mess.

This summer is the time to sell if he wants out.

We’ve picked up 1 point from 15 in 5 games against the sides who will in almost all certainty occupy the Top 7 places.

I can’t see us registering a win against any of those top sides this season playing dinosaur Conte Ball.

It’s Man U losing to Brentford, Brighton and Villa and Dippers losing to Notts Forest and Leeds and drawing with Fulham, Brighton and Palace that has us in a more elevated position in the table than either our form or results really merit. Can’t see either of them remaining so profligate as the season progresses.
This makes no sense. Those teams lost to bottom sides because they can’t beat them consistently. Why will they improve vs those sides but we won’t improve vs top teams.

We are a pathetic 1 point from 5 games vs top 7. There’s no way we continue at that rate.

If we're gonna use Burnley tactics, might as well get Dyche in.

Would probably cost 1/4th what we're paying Antonio.

We could use that extra £££ to buy another #9.

Tottenham for the past 10 years or so have been very similar in comparison to Liverpool. Out of all the clubs I think Liverpool were our main competing club. We were both hovering around 6th hoping for CL football. we initially pushed on a bit more, then Pochettino and Klopp came in. Built young energetic teams. And then when the time was right liverpool put the foot down on the accelerator and went out into the market very shrewdly and paid the right money for the right man, irrespective of net profits. And it paid off massively to the tune of CL trophies and PL titles. Spurs (Levy) on the other hand never pushed us to the next level when Pochettino had us running at maximum capacity, and what happened? Eventually the engine blew up.

Now what we are seeing is Liverpools lifecycle similar to how Spurs was in 2019. A slightly aging and depleted squad in need of bolstering. Now you will see how Liverpool respond versus how Spurs did. They will keep Klopp, use this season to build on next years, and strengthen PROPERLY in the summer.

This is the difference. We were both on the same pathway and we both as clubs got to the same point and went off in different directions. Now we are at that same crossroads again, liverpool with way more success, but again, instead of following the spurs mantra of stabbing managers in the back and underinvesting, they will back Klopp and go straight back into the top tier, whilst spurs will stay lost going around in circles

Had a dream last night that Antonio kept playing Royal out of choice rather than necessity, and we all kept blaming Levy for it.

Boy I hope that doesn't come true.

I never thought Conti would come to us as didn't stack up with previous jobs .I was wrong of course and then foolishly thought he was going to be backed with top end players should have known better . He is on a huge wage but we are not really getting a great return for that money .He is an elite manager but with our owners he is unlikely to get the quality he needs .I am quite surprised he didn't realise that at the start Levy must have told a good yarn . We all know our owners will never go that extra step to push us on they have proved it many times . We got a poor enough fourth spot last season needed real quality but alas same old story it seems .

Because Conte has repeatedly shown himself up as an inflexible coach with no Plan B. You will not get anything against top sides with this cowardly low energy surrender possession and let the opposition have the ball style of play.

Bloke needs to sign a new contract. He cares or at least he gives that impression..

No point looking for or at anyone else unless the bloke walks.

What he must do is get more out of the players . Easier said than done but...

Too easy to call for change and infinitely more difficult to guarantee anything better.

We can't keep gifting goals and we need to start beating the better teams or at least not losing to them. I say better but Liverpool were certainly not great yesterday.

People also have short memories. The football at the end of the Poch reign was some of the worst. We looked clueless out on the field only surpassed by Poch's same expression and don't give a fuck attitude picked up on our Amazon TV show!

Your boy here however does not forget.
Paratici and pochettino combination may be a different beast altogether.
One of the major reasons for pochettino's downfall was the abysmal transfer market activity ..which paratici would never allow

I get the whole no plan B but most elite managers have no plan B. Pep has one way of playing, Arteta has one way of playing, Klopp has one way of playing.

Most elite managers these days have a philosophy and they expect to build a team with the right players to make it work. This isnt Harry Redknapp who will amend style/tactics every game, it’s a very much this is my system and we live or die by it.

Conte’s system requires 3 ball playing centre backs and 2 fast aggressive wing backs. We have big limitations in those key positions so the system only kind of works, yesterday without school boy errors we would have won.

If Conte does want to stay long term we know what needs fixing player wise and when we have no more weak links we can then look to compete.

I hate parroting Arteta fanboys but if Conte is serious about being here long term we have to ‘’trust the process’’. Upgrade the defence and we will win most games.

That team had run its course though and Poch hadn’t been properly backed. The issue was that we had lost key players like Walker and especially Dembele and they hadn’t been replaced. Eriksen had downed tools and Ali had been found out. We played the best football in the league for a couple of seasons and were unlucky to end up empty handed or don’t you remember that? I think that Poch in the end had to go but he did well for Spurs. We won’t win anything or get anywhere close playing in the style we have this season

I was expecting more from conte than what we've seen tbh. I don't mean wins I mean tactically, getting players playing above themselves like he did with moses for example, big game mentality and putting in the big performances when it matters. For me he's not doing that. He's improved us no doubt but that wasn't really hard for any half decent manager to do. I think our improvement is more to do with having some better players around in kulusevski and bentancur than it is with conte and his tactics.

I'm one of the ones who's been criticising the way we have been playing but I don't want Conte to be sacked, I just want it to improve. We have got a lot of substandard defenders at the moment - especially the wing backs - so why play a defensive game where any creativity is meant to come from the wings? Surely we should play to our strengths which, when they are all fit, is in attack?

If he signs a deal and properly commits, I'll "trust the process". Until he does it's in my mind that he's gone in six months (or less if he gets a better offer).

Maybe our strength is to concede the first half and win the second.

Until of course you meet a better team who don't gift you things.

Weren't we pretty well performing last season against the big sides?? It's almost as if this gam packed fixture season, our small squad and injury crisis are having an effect...

You know Paraciti believes in the 5 at the back formation right? And that Poch was also a fan of it for quite a while under us? You also realise that Paraciti's number 1 manager to work with is Conte?
