Daley Blind has been playing with a similar implant for years, he seems OK. From what I've read, medically Eriksen is not in significantly higher risk of cardiac issues than other players now. Which is why he's cleared to play in pretty much every country outside of Italy.

From what we're told by Spurs Journos, the intent is indeed to splash some cash on an elite LCB, the likes of Gvardiol will cost 60m+. We're not after just an upgrade, but someone special.

Eriksen is of course not an ideal signing, but getting real quality after having spent millions on a LCB, RWB, and possibly a LWB is not gonna be easy unless we go for players like Eriksen. The point is to tide us over until we can buy a more permanent solution in 2023 or later when funds become available.
Stop worrying about Daniel Levy's pocket book his Uncle Joe is on his last legs and is worth 5.bn. They built the stadium got a world class manager and you justifying their lack of investment by plugging holes with a sample size of Daley Blind a half a dozen games of players with implanted cardiac devices. Sorry I want no part in it. We have needed a world class replacement for Eriksen since the season he stopped playing over a contract dispute. That replacement is NOT Eriksen. Don't worry we won't do a 'Leeds'. It's time to back THIS manager I can't believe our fan base.

Personally I feel that it would be a mistake not to offer him a contract on the basis of being an important squad player who can make a key difference in tight games. Seeing the impact he's had at Brentford and the fact it would be on a free makes this a no-brainer for me. We need more quality in the squad depth in general if we want to push on.

That's not to say that he would accept this. He might want to stay as a big fish in a smaller pond at Brentford. He might want to chase the money at Newcastle. He might want to be guarantee starting games for the World Cup. He might not want to play Conte ball. So I won't complain if we don't get him. But I feel we have to make an offer.

Rather have heart problems than Winks.

Do you know if Conte actually requested Inter sign Eriksen, or did Inter sign him without Conte's approval?
Thats a very relevant question. I have tried to look into it, and it seems that he was unwanted by Conte. Like this article suggest. Its not clear where they got the information, so it might be speculation. But Eriksen has been called "not a Conte-signing" in other articles as well.

Antonio Conte asked whether he regrets not signing Christian Eriksen for Tottenham in January

Tottenham Hotspur will come up against their former midfielder on Saturday in the Premier League and Conte will renew acquaintances with the Dane

Conte signed Eriksen for Inter Milan from Spurs in January 2020 and after a year spent adapting to a new league and the manager's demands, the Dane became an important part of the Italian's Serie A-winning side last term.

Now Tottenham boss, Conte was asked this week ahead of Saturday's match at Brentford whether the Dane's return to top level performances, having also scored in consecutive games on his international return, has surprised him and made him regret not trying to bring him back to Spurs in January.

"Honestly, no one knew the possibility of Christian coming back to football. It was a surprise for everybody," he said. "I think in this respect, Brentford was very good to understand the situation and to go into the situation, and to sign Christian. I'm really surprised but I'm not the only person surprised to see him playing in this way.

"I don't want to remember what happened to him because it makes me very sad, but to see him now playing at this level is incredible. It's amazing. I'm very happy for him. For sure, he had always great joy in playing football, but if before he was enjoying it 100%, now it's 200%.

"To go from a situation where you can't play football for the rest of your life, to playing football again, I think that makes you happy and makes you enjoy this sport, and your passion, much more. I wish for him and his family the best. They deserve it and it will be a great joy to see him on the pitch, playing and doing what he likes to do."

Conte also explained how Eriksen became an important player for him last season at Inter Milan and admitted that the Denmark international would never complain when left out of the team in the first 12 months.

"At Inter we played with a 3-5-2 and at the time Christian was used to playing at Tottenham behind a striker in a 4-2-3-1," said the Spurs head coach. "So I think he needed a bit of time to understand my idea of football, but when he did this, he became a really important player for us.

"I see at Brentford they are playing sometimes 3-5-2 or 3-4-3. And in 3-5-2, he is doing the same things he did with Inter by being their playmaker, but when you have a player with great availability to improve themselves and put themselves at the service of the team, it's easier for a manager. Christian is one of these types of player. I don't remember once that he complained when he was on the bench. A top player, a top person in every moment."

Poor fucker's suffered enough in recent times without being subjected to that twat.
In the YouTube video of the interview I've just posted, Redknapp goes on to say "I've watched you for many, many years, I watched you at Ajax".

No mention of Tottenham, the team he played for 7 seasons making over 300 apps, scoring nearly 70 goals! What a helmet he is.

tbh, Eriksen himself never seemed especially fond of Spurs. Maybe it's just how he is but he never really spoke of Spurs in emotive language.

Even in this interview it seemed to be "yeah... it'll be special", hardly full of nostalgia.

Very different from how Vertoghen, Dembele and many others speak about the club.

He’s not that type FFS. He’s a mellow and quiet dude, always has been.

People are different. Everyone are not VdV-tap-the-crest-passionate… that might surprise you.

He hates us for what we did to Daddy.... Even though we were his faves when Daddy was here (and Harry himself bears us no grudge).

I'm glad he hates us.... I hate the prick right back and hate that the snivelling little shit ever wore our shirt.

Well he passed the audition today....even coming over to our fans at the end!!
I was quite disappointed in the way he left and his attitude, but hey life’s too short and I’m sure he’d appreciate that sentiment if he wanted to come back then fine we’d be better with him than with out him…..

Eriksen was not perfect, especially in the last 12 month's before he left.

Him having a heart attack does not change that but the bloke gave us what we can only dream of now in terms of personnel.

Personally just glad he is alive. I was in Cafe Rouge when my son text me to say he looked like he had died. I mean WTF but....

The football bit is a bonus and whilst I am all for not necessarily looking back, he would be a welcome addition..

Would welcome him back. But whatever just glad the bloke is alive. And still top marks to the National squad surrounding him to keep out the cameras.

i believe he was the reason we had the great Dele we had.

last 18 months not so good but think there was shit behind the scenes that we’ll never know.
