Ancelotti would have been the right person to handle their motley crew of egotists.

Who knows how Arteta will get on, but he’s walking into a poisonous environment full of poisonous players and ‘fans’.

Worst of luck to him.

I can’t stop laughing at Arteta trying to play Pepball with David Luiz and Sokratis in defence.

They are such a shambles, can't even sign the assistant coach they want...

Maybe one more game for Freddie now??

:mourloopy:

No no no, Freddie was an ex player with no managerial experience, they wouldn’t entertain that kind of appointm.... oh wait a minute..

Arteta???? With all the other managerial talent out there. Are they that skint???

Or Is it possible Stan Kroenke actually owns AFTV?
Just waiting for a Scooby Doo/Mission Impossible type mask reveal on Robbie now.

Then this appointment makes perfect sense.

Massive gamble for them, do you think they tried for Poch but he told them where to stick it?

Remember we all mocked them when they got Wenger all those years ago, that didn't age well.

Arteta could go one of two ways for them,

It's not only about the coach when it comes to the scum. The rot is pretty much everywhere so there's a good chance that even if Arteta turns out to be a good coach, it still won't be enough to prevent their downfall.

If he loses his first game. The melt down will be simply glorious.
I hope even more they become patient with him at first because “there’s a clear project now of someone that understands what Woolwich is about, someone that cares”

Then watch them slowly turn against him in a never seen before toxic way when the results never come. It’s the hope that kills you.

Wenger had experience and was streets ahead of the competition in terms of ideas - we just weren’t aware of his methods but a quick glimpse at his CV showed some pedigree.

Arteta is literally a first team coach observing Pep.
If he was that groundbreaking City would not be letting him go. He would be Peps replacement. They plan ahead up there...... or at least they did with Pep.

Personally think him being totally untested and thrust into a snake pit an experienced manager would struggle with it can only go one way.

And I’m quite happy about that.
