It's not that they got rolled by a promoted squad, it's that they've looked completely and utterly uncompetitive against Chelsea and City.
If they had lost against both those teams but looked decent, you could at least say "they've had COVID issues, tough start, should recover when the schedule gets easier." But instead you're looking at the Norwich match and going "I think Norwich would be disappointed with dropping points here."

This is what people need to be concerned with, though. They've been spending freely for years, there's this compete misconception that they're skint and Kroenke won't spend. Mostly perpetuated by that AFTV mob who have always tried to blame ownership for everything (

But they do spend, have spent, will spend. Their managerial appointments and recruitment has been a trainwreck since Wenger left, and its been a delightful trainwreck. But if they got someone in that wasn't shite, they'll be sorted out soon enough.
They've spent money, but I'm not sure anyone could sort out their mess quickly.
If they get sucked into a relegation battle, they have absolutely no one that will grab them by the bollocks and get them out of it, their only player with any sort of leadership or heart is Xhaka, and he’s absolutely the worst midfielder I think I’ve ever seen in this league
Truth is that unlike us (despite what a few posters might believe) they have a CEO who is advised by morons, surrounded by sycophants, and is dumb enough to listen to them all.
Years of overpaying for bang average players, failing to get even close to true value for departing players, and the insane belief that paying players, no longer considered good enough at their current club, massive salaries in the vain hope they suddenly become 25 again?
If you miss-manage the finances, and yes finances do matter, then even when you spend 400m on new signings across three summers, you still end up with a squad that far from top four is mid-table at best, and right now not even that good.
Wenger, Emery, Lungberg, Arteta and whoever comes next were all doomed to fail once the senior management lost the plot.
Just maybe a few more on here will look at our club, look at the strength, youthfulness and value of our squad, look at the infrastructure that supports that squad, look at the way we manage transfers and contracts, and realise that the grass is not always greener ... just maybe we are better with the devil we know.
