They lost their two starting CB's this summer and not sure that despite spending £100m + that they are not better than last season. Time will tell but maybe finishing 3rd may be too much of a stretch this season ?

Agreed.

Morale is important. Unless you have a team that is so much dominant over the competition, you need pragmatism to contain games where the odd is against you. Getting defeat, or worse, a thrashing would negatively affect more than one match result. You don't challenge if you let your morale to drop.

Leeds team is built for this kind of high pressing. Their coach is the follower of that same high pressing style coming from the Red Bull clubs system. Just as Southampton with another coach coming from similar background, would have some great games even against top teams, but ultimately inconsistent. This style is very tough on fitness.

Some of our key players are no spring chicken. They need to be managed since we will have CL to deal with, and ambition for the domestic cups. Some of the younger ones are not the athletic type for this style.

Also this game is more about Chelsea getting rattled mentally due to last week derby.

I know which of the two teams will finish higher but for now we will take any loss of points for anyone considered to be rivals.
