Think Poch has problems he can't manage teams with expensive players or mega rich clubs...... Chelsea have had there success....now it's there turn to be like Liverpool when Dalgish left and Man U when Ferguson left...... reckon they'll take much longer to achieve anything because those clubs particularly Liverpool won everything through having a great run club and heritage while Chelsea just came into billions and bought the worlds most expensive players and managers to achieve success.

He needs a young, hungry, impressionable group of players that will give him the extra 20% his football needs to be great.

He's got young players, but there not hungry enough because there earning so much and half of them can't get a chance to play, because there's to many of them.
They really need is experienced pro's in the team aswell and not just youngsters, plus they've got no leaders so the players look clueless..... as is the manager. Potter doesn't seem that bad now.... reckon he'll be a success at the next club he manages.

Potter will be fine at his next club I agree. Chelsea need a Ancelotti type manager, someone whose force of personality can use a billion quid squad.

This is why Bhoey is so weird, he has gone down the project manager route but spend like he needs a cheque book manager route. Strategy is all fucked up.

It's also a question of quality. There's no one in that team who could tie the laces of Lloris, Jan, Toby, Walker, Eriksen, Son, Kane, young Dele. Just on the simple basis of individual ability irrespective of playstyle.

Sanchez will never be the shotstopper Lloris was. No matter how shit the tactics were you could usually rely on Lloris to pull out some wonder saves, and Kane/Eriksen to score, even just scoring a banger from range.

There's none of that at the Chavs right now. Sterling is the closest but he's just not going to carry a team on his back like Kane did.

Here; Poch had Lloris, Jan, Dembele... Mature players in mind and age that had already been here for a few years. He also jump-started his project with a handful of very hungry academy players.

A bunch of early-20s lads on 8 year deals and 100-200kpw wages is something entirely different.

He also likes to work with a small streamlined squad.... Whereas they have a crazy amount of players.

Todd didnt learn form last season, you can't buy all these new players and expect them to gel straight away and add on top of that that half of them may not come as good as they think.

Now he could have a squad of players, who may flop, who can sit there for 8 years and never have to worry about leaving and can go on loan and still collect 100k plus a week

He doesn't understand what makes football different from American sports (even putting aside the business and league structures). In basketball you can have one superstar dominate cos it's only 5 a side.

In American football, the plays are completely orchastrated by the coach, and players merely execute the plan. Baseball appears to be the James Ward-Prowse of sports.

Football is incredibly dynamic, creative and subtle by comparison, and it means that "more/less than the sum of its parts" applies to football in a way that it doesn't apply to most other sports. He's completely ignored that aspect of it.

Really well put.

That is the main issue. Think it fucked Potter as well. If you have a huge billionaire squad you need a manager for it.

Couldn’t listen to more than up to the moan about playing Chilwell on the left and not changing it. God the late substitutions/ not changing it when it’s not working used to do my nut in! Never change Poch 🤣
My Chelsea mate was moaning yesterday because "everyone in the entire stadium could see" that it wasn't working from the start and were begging for changes at half time.

He said "Why the fuck didn't Pochettino make changes at half time instead of waiting till the 63rd minute"

I just shrugged

This was always going to happen too because Poch often starts seasons slowly and it takes time for players to get it. Chelsea fans have had a dreadful season just gone so are already fed up and they just are not used to it. Surprised they haven’t turned on him already
Sure, but Poch has two things going against him as well. He has a team full of misfits with loads of players who’ve never played together really, and seem to be thrown together at random. On top of that, we had a slower start but, like Ange, we saw something right from the start that was at least some signs of change and improvement. They look about the same as last year with some questionable decisions by him.
