It broke down purely and simply because the player prefered to go to Valencia than West Ham. Like I say, if a player wants to leave a club and go to yours, you give him the dosh so he can buy out his contract and there isn't a damn thing the other club can do about it.

You can't pay it in instalments or negotiate add ons or any other stuff like that. You pay the sum and you get the player, that's all there is to it. Like City did with Rodrigo, like United did with Herrera.

The owners have asset stripped the club, watered down the fan base by renting an athletics track by a shopping centre, signed players just looking for one final pay day and any decent players they happen to unearth can't wait to leave.

Yet the claret and blue few think they are a rival of us.....

He had a great 2nd season, but the whole team was playing out of their skin, and also playing attacking football, which can make a striker look better. I somehow don't think he could replicate that form for a team like West Ham. But on the whole, I get the impression, he's a switched on lad, who would be using them as a stepping stone to a proper club in the Premier League.

Good hold up play, and extremely calm when under pressure. One of his goals in the Europa League sticks in mind, where he scored a beautiful goal on the counter against Shaktar Donetsk.
