The more I think of it, the more it might be a good idea to bench Bellingham.

His attitude was awful last game and it looks like the pressure of living up to the hype is getting to him as he was knackered.

Benching him would mean when he came on at about the 60 minutes mark, he 'should' be chomping at the bit to prove people wrong.

It's also virtually impossible for us to go out tomorrow so isn't a win critical game.

So

Pickford
Walker Stones Geuhi Gomez
Mainoo Rice
Foden
Saka Kane Palmer

You'd have options all over the pitch with that - bringing Bellingham, Gordon or Eze on against knackered defenders would be great.

Either that or a Mile Basset 4-4- bloody-2

Pickford
Walker Stones Geuhi Gomez
Saka Mainoo Foden Rice
Watkins Kane

Either of those sides would surely be better than the crap we've seen so far.

I don't think either solve our problems tbh....

Ok if we are going to press and be front foot but a mistake if we just play sit back football.

We all saw this coming weeks ago. Gallagher doesn’t solve any issues. If anything he will add to them.
Gallagher is also only 1 yellow away from a ro16 suspension so he might play a bit more cautiously to avoid a booking and if he does pick one up, Southgate will be back to having to work out the midfield for the next match...

He won't change the problem at all, he will just add more energy. Our problems are all about balance and the kind of footballers Southgate chose. Tyrick Mitchell should be understudy to Luke Shaw and be playing his third game in this tournament.

If you don't want to progress the football through the thirds then you need direct runners with lightening pace so Rashford and Sterling no matter how shit their club form makes Southgate ball work.

Fodden needs proxies for Gundogan and Silva players he can work triangles with so Maddison, Grealish. Rice is better box to box so the best systemic fit for 8 is Wharton. Obvious stuff royally muffed up by a weak manager falling into the cracks of his limited ideas.

If Gallagher get suspended rather than be smart and stick Wharton or Mainoo he will probably go back to sticking RB Trent back in there.

if toucans only change is Pierre Emile Gallagher

If he's that fkn special (which of course he isn't!) then why did he not bring him??????

Fucking twat.

My own view is Southgate plays low low low block where you sit deep then run like mad to counter. That is why Maguire, Sterling, Rashford, Philips look good in his system because it suits their attributes. Problem is all of them have been so shit at club level he probably feels he cannot justify taking them Maguire aside who was injured.

So he takes all the ballers like Palmer, Foden, Eze, Bellingham, Maradona and Pele but he needs Philips, Rashford, Danny Mills, Alan Smith, Emile Heskey and Andy Carroll to play his brand of football.

If you finish top of your easy group, you get to play a 3rd place team then a 2nd placed team. You only have to beat two good (top 20) teams to win the tournament.

If not now then pack it in and stick to cricket.

Spain have already beaten two top 20 teams this tournament. They’ll have to beat five top 20 teams to win the tournament.

Spain are a well drilled side, England are a bunch of randoms played mostly out of position.

Trippier a right back at left back
Trent a RB at CM
Gallagher a pressing CM in a low block
Foden a rotating AM as a left winger
Rice a ball winning 8 at 6

You can’t be this tactically disjointed and do well.
