He gave the win against Man Utd away with that pen. And was involved in the 3-0 loss to sheffutd. We've done more than fine without him after. 6/10 is generous.
He's a clogger and nowhere near good enough anymore - the CB version of Winks

His performance against SU was pub-player level

Ah.... this once more....

In what world do some people live, I wonder time and time again.
"Sell Winks, Sell Dier, Sell Lamela, Moura, Sissoko, Davies, Aurier, Toby...etc, they are not top 3 material".

FOR FUCK SAKE YOU CANNOT HAVE 25 SUPERSTARS IN A SQUAD. It is unrealistic financially (you cannot ship out say 10*60 mil to bring in "world class" player to each position) and also in terms of team mentality (EVEN IF you would be able to pull it off, then some of the superstars get moody and needy because of the lack of playing time and will want to leave or act out!).
Liverpool up to now have likes of Lallana, Lovren, Henderson, Shaqiri, Ox and Origi. Pretty much all of them are bang averge!!! And as someone mentioned in this thread- great ManU side had likes of O'Shea, Park and few other "meeh" players. That's part of being strong club. But here people think that players who are not good enough to start every game as part of starting XI are worthless all of a sudden? Get a grip.

There is depth needed while building strong squads. It is obvious we need to bring in some new players that would be starters and mainstays in the team. But behind them, you need a group that would be professionals, do their job well and be available to be called upon when we need rotation / cover for starters for whatever reasons. Likes of Dier, Winks, Sissoko, Davies and right now even say Toby are perfect example of it.

Andersen generally talks gibberish but on this he has a point though. Most of those Liverpool players you mention are reserves/sqaud players, the problem is most those Spurs players you list are regular first team starters. And even some of those Liverpool sqaud players would get in our first team most weeks ahead of them.

Do you really think it's just a coincidence that we are now a mid table team that are 35 points behind Liverpool now?

Difference is - those are all squad players who help out here and there (bar Henderson)_

In our case - all those are weekly starters making the first 11 bang average compared like for like to our Top 6 rivals. Table never lies - we've been mostly shit

Toby, Sanchez, Dier, Tanganga is a pretty good group.

I always thought Dier would be better at CB and it's good to see him perform so well there.

Obviously he seems a great player but this Korean lad might struggle for minutes here with that group. Maybe the plan is to use Tanganga at RB for next year, sell Toby after 2020-21 and then blood in the Monster.

Either way, good problem to have.

He is past his best already. We need to sign a quality CB and then Dier can be sold to Wet Spam

Ugh

Not good enough to start but unlikely that Jose will keep him on the bench. As I mentioned earlier 4th or 5th CB we have at best but will be played all the time.

One of the players that has helped make us and will keep us mediocre.

Really disappointing day for the club and its fans.

Not a bad record. Would be interesting to add the context of which fixtures those encompassed. We'll wait here...

:adesalute:

Sure.

Sorry, I was wrong on when they've played in a back three - they've won 3 and drawn 3 as opposed to won just 2 and drawn 4. Here are the results and the teams played:

In a back four together: 6

Red Star (A) - 0-4
West Ham (H) - 2-0

Drawn: 3
Man Utd (H) - 1-1
Sheff Utd (H) - 1-1
Norwich (H) - 1-1

Lost: 1
Sheff Utd (A) - 3-1

- - - - -

Played in a back three: 8

Wins: 3
Dortmund (A) - 1-2
Crystal Palace (H) - 1-0
Crystal Palace (A) - 0-1

Drawn: 3
Burnley (A) - 1-1
Real Madrid (A) - 1-1
West Brom (H) - 1-1

Lost: 2

We are hoping for long cup runs, including the Europa League where you have to play a massive number of games, and being competitive in the league. Being able to rotate 4 or 5 players when necessary without shitting ourselves is just a good thing.
