Rochdale fan here, coming in peace. First of all, good luck tonight, facing you will be the biggest fixture ever for our club, from a financial pov. Secondly, im going to apologise for the state of our pitch, we got mugged off during the summer from the company that laid the pitch, but it should be better by the time we potentially play you, weve hired out premier league equiptment for the last round which contarary to the pictures actually helped,as far as i believe we will continue to rent it.
Our league position doesnt realy give us credit, in a league were we have probably one of the lowest budgets, we have lost to many games by the odd goal or drawn when we were better value for a result. Recently lady luck is swinging back our way. All Rochdale fans respect the way your club has gone about things against the money bags that the big 3 have.
Our team is made up from our academy players and casts offs that have been forged together weve moved tp 3-4-2-1 recently with attacking wing backs. We like to play football, we wont go out to injure your players. We have to much self respect for that. I do hope you avoid playing kane just for tthe facts its world cup year and knowing england its our luck hell get injured ha.
It could be our first time facing you. Weve been having a debate on our site to how many of your fans will turn up. We have 2k seated away stand--will you fill it? What team can we expect to face? Seeming its jammed in to some very important fixtures for you. Much love and good luck for the rest of the season.
Nice post!

One thing I noticed when doing some reading about Rochdale was that you'd changed the name of Spotland (a name I always liked, nicely out-of-the ordinary, like Molineux) to the Crown Oil Arena for sponsorship reasons.

However, it seems that Spotland is still the most commonly used name by far - on the Guardian, Mail and BBC reports that was what they used, it's the Wikipedia entry for your ground etc. That pleases me, it's something on our minds as we move into the new ground which will have a corporate name, will we be able to keep the name White Hart Lane alive? Hopefully we can follow your lead!

Ha ha ha! That twat Durham at t again: are spurs cheating by playing their cup games at Wembley?
Wtf! Is there nothing better to talk about? Does he not understand it's our home ground for the season? Bellend!
How can it be cheating...? I thought we were supppsed to be cursed there?
Can't have it both ways!!

Sissoko MOTM today. Calling it now.

Their isnt enough of us to be bothered about the name of the ground tbh. Most Rochdalian's (or whatever were meant to call ourselves) are United/citeh fans which is a disappointment but understandable. And regarding switching grounds. I wouldnt be bothered but our best chance of any result would be at home. The extra money from wembley woud be nice but id rather respect the draw. It wouldnt surprise me if we did lay a new pitch before it or atleast half the pitch. We our a respectful group of fans and we only hate teams that do it the wrong way. Notts County, stockport etc have robbed us of promotion or winning lg2 due to being bankrolled by lies. We accept well never be a big boy but we will always do things the right way. Even if it means selling our best players to stay afloat. We have produced some players in last 10 years or reinvogorated then. Adam Le Fondre, ricky lambert, glen murray, craig dawson, matt gilks, grant holt etc. So we find gems polish them and let them go for bigger and better things. Something the media has never picked up on. Their is also the fact we now have the best academy outside the premier league..which stats etc will show. would be nice if the 2 cljbs could establish a relationship after this game.

Really looking forward to the possibility of playing you - for the first time, I think. Hope we get more than 2,000. They’ll sell easily. If you hired the Etihad we’d bring 10,000 easily. But I hope it goes ahead at yours. Looks like a proper stadium. Can we get some terracing too please?
