Agree with this. Much more like the player we supposedly bought 4.5 years ago and he's been good of late but he has 18 months on his contract so its either sell up in the summer and get some return or a new contract. Have to say it would be a big call to give him another 3 or 4 years based on what we've seen to date and he is incredibly injury prone.I’m happy he’s doing well atm, but my gut feeling is that we should take advantage of his good form to raise his value and still move him on.
I’ve always felt that we could let Kulusevski replace his role in the squad, and bring in another dynamic forward.
Any team that parks the bus, ie quite a few and Wet Spam, there's a good case for starting both Madz and GLC in MF.I hope he remain useful player for as long as possible. But as things stand, I absolutely believe that when we have Bissouma, Sarr, Bentancur, Maddison and Kulusevski all fit and firing, he will be behind all them in the pecking order.
Oh FFS. Damn with faint praise or what. 2 assists in a match where we were getting battered from 10th to 55th min. I still don't know how we won that.in Bournemouth game he was overall very good and useful.
Everyone was sub par against Spam, I certainly wouldn't single him out for that one. In general a good passing game I'd say.1 poor performance,

And this "fit and firing". What is that exactly? Ange Ball creates lots of injuries, esp in MF and defence. If Madz needs subbing, resting, whatever, then GLC is the best outball from our defence, and the best passer we have. Rotation is key with this system, and GLC if he doesn't start should always be one of the first subs on.

Came off at 67 mins v Spam - we created NOT ONE chance after that.
Came on late v Brighton - scored 2 and could have got another 2. (yes, and that stupid pen).
We finally have him playing for a manager for whom front foot is the way to go. FFS Conte?!?!?!? We're lucky he didn't walk under that evil bastard.

Selling him now would be crazy imo.
The level of short-sightedness is MR MAGOO standard. Unless this bloke is turning in MOM displays every week till the summer get rid. We have to stop carrying these impediments to progress.Thats extremely sad way of arguing.
- I write "Bournemouth game he was overall very good and useful. I admit he deserved MoM award for that."
- You leave out the last comment where I said that he was man of the match AND THEN come to whine about "faint prize". What the fuck?
Okay, if this is the criteria (didn't create single chance after that) - well he was our playmaker against Fulham in cup game... where during his time we had like 0 shots?!? So we can also hang him for that performance then? Or no, cause.. this does not fit the agenda?
But that is pointless argument. So far he has been pretty inconsistent within this very same season as well. And if one performance makes him a "key player" then I can only assume that after few more medicore performances people come here with pitchforks and torches to escort him out of the club.
I absolutely admit that he has had very good games for us. He has been vital part in those games, but he has to do it more consistently over 10x longer period than 1-2 months before we can talk about actually proving something.
faint praise
never heard of it?
That's a lot of words discussing something that there has never been any evidence of.P.S all this "he hated Conte and did not want to play for him" shit that some people try to use as an excuse is pretty mental.
I mean, I can understand that Conte's system did not suit him and he did not feel good in that system. But I have to say this is more of a red flag than praise in my eyes.
I have much more respect for those who give their all for every manager. Like Kane - he in fact DEVELOPED further under Mourinho. He literally became more rounded attacker under him. He was also thriving under Conte and spoke well of him. That is a proof of being role model professional.
With players depending on the "mood" and "liking / unliking manager" seem like a potential bomb for me. I never know when Ange could leave him out for "too many games" in his view and then he starts sulking and bitching.
Don't get me wrong - I don't want to defend Parmesan Pulis at all. I am happy he is away and the way he ignored some players - like for example Sarr - it was awful. But it does not ever cross my mind to praise / excuse player to be moody with coach X or Y. Ever.
Come on come on take the money and run, come on come on take the money and run....
I don’t understand what the debate is about.
We need 6 very good midfielders. He is more than good enough to be among that group.
Him and Bentancur imo. Bentancur shading towards 6 heavily and GLC shading towards 10 heavily. He’s probably the only one who can play all 3 positions in a pinch
Is the obvious logical position anyone not romantically involved would come to.For what ever reason locelso hasn’t exactly worked out over near 4 seasons,
But like a dodgy car we should get our money back now before the mot goes out

The only substantial evidence of dislike in either direction between Conte/Lo Celso is the fact that Conte dropped him from the squad entirely and never gave him a look in once the first TW arrived, which certainly suggests that Conte disliked Gio for one reason or another.
When you factor in Conte's treatment of Sarr, and his penchant for a Skipp/Hojbjerg midfield, not sure that Conte disliking him is anything to really hold against Gio.
In the summer some fool will scrape together the cash if Levy isn't too greedyWhich club is paying for him?? Rest of Europe is broke.
I know that you referenced MoTM performace. But anyone who uses the description "useful" is either damning with faint praise or praising through gritted teeth.
