Ex-Spurs Player Giovani Lo Celso

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Richy did well enough.

Willing to bet Ange starts him again v Palace
I think Richie & Veliz are gonna be alternated with eachother in and out of the team until one of them starts scoring...

Such an excuse doesn't wash for Lo Celso......
Agree, he's experienced enough to know what is required of him, and if, as people suggest, his confidence is shot 'cos of previous managers, well that's on them, surely?
Son's confidence was shot under Conte, but given a manager like Ange, and he's thriving (along with plenty of others, Romero's form dipped too last season, and now look!)
...why can't GLC see he's onto a good thing with one of the most attack minded, level headed, inspirational managers out there right now??

Just an empty shirt

If he was a meal he'd be this:

BLT is actually a decent Option and the Smoothie is a good use of getting value for money in the meal deal, I think GLC would be more like this.....

So it’s ok that Veliz and Johnson were anonymous but not for GLC in the 15 minutes he was on the pitch ?
I still think there is a player in there and I’m sure Ange will decide between now and January if he wants to keep him
The thing is how long his GLC been here? It could be the year 2028 and some people on here would be saying "he just needs a run of games to see if he can cut it here"
Nothing against the guy but he isn't good enough for us, hopefully he can stay fit until January so we can finally cut our losses and move on!

If I had to be picky it's one of the few things I'm disappointed with so far under Ange, the stories from Celtic were that he replaces his 8's like clockwork on 60ish minutes to keep up the intensity, and the focus would always be on attacking.

Now I'm not complaining about our attacking play by any means, but we've had PEH and Skipp brought on to see out a game on more than one occasion, and the fringe attacking players have been getting the dregs at the end of matches for minutes, not half an hour every week.

Like you say, it's one of the drawbacks of no midweek throwaway games to allow them to get into a rhythm and build some trust/form.

Thing is, if disaster strikes and Maddison were unavailable, we're left just hoping that someone can shift up a gear to take up the slack, if that's expected to be GLC even if we all accept he's a level below, then he's not currently ready to go, he'd need a couple of games to get into it fully.
once there is squad depth Ange will rotate more. It was the same at Celtic. He didn’t have that luxury until his second year when players like O’Riley and Mooy came in.

We do have Bentancur coming back soon for Madders.

Are the senior team players able to play in the PL 2 teams?

Source is a Spanish or Argentinian media outlet that just said Gio doesn't have his trust. Could very easily be lost in translation for not getting an opportunity.

I doubt Ange has changed his mind about Lo Celso, he's only just got him back fit.

He has missed the first 3 months of the season through injury as we all knew he would. I doubt Ange will ever trust a player who is never fit.

No-one will buy GLC, Hoj will have plenty of >10M offers

I want GLC gone, nothing to offer. Move Hoj on too and bring one in

I think there will be offers for GLC - based upon his Argentina rep.

But other than half a dozen games when Mourhino first arrived when he ran round quite a lot (but zero goals, assists, or any serious attacking threat) before getting injured again and missing the last half dozen games of that season, he's done zero of note at Spurs (I think its a total of 9 PL matches he's completed 90 minutes in ALL the time he's been at Spurs). And hasn't excelled on loan in Spain either,

If Ndombele wasn't here, he'd catch a lot more criticism from Spurs fans.

Sell directly we can get a competent replacement.

Hojbjerg wants to move on to be a regular starter, but whilst not everybody's choice he certainly puts an effort in. Yes I'd be happy to move him on but there's more who need to move on before him : I think he stays until at least the summer.

Of course there’s more that need to move on before Hoj but no-one wants GLC or Ndom - we literally have to pay people to pay to take them (on loan).

I would be absolutely fucking astonished if he lasts at Spurs past January*

*Assuming the glass prick doesn't get injured again.

I know this was shared in another chat but hear me out.

If Everton won't pay the deal we agreed, rip it up and bring Dele back until the end of the season as the Maddison back up.

He knows he needs to earn his way back in and the fitness will take a while so he's not going to get pissed off with bench riding.

Ange is probably as close as you could get to the perfect character to get him going (Dyche as well seems like a good fit btw).

Dele was always a pressing machine and at his best playing on his instincts and with the freedom to make a mistake or 2...

I'm not even kidding. Sell Gio in January and bring Dele if Everton won't pay.

Completely agree with this.

Can't see that Dele would offer us any less than Gio has...I'd LOVE to see him back tbh as a squad/cover option - reckon big Ange could get a tune out of him.

Romance aside, I think he's too damaged tbh.
Sad, but seems to be true.
