So I hate this people dont know the situation and constantly assuming things which dont make sense.

There was a case among players who tried to get green card in one of the european countries and extend the due date to millitary duty.

So it was sorta suggestion and it's possible story idiots.

I know him better than u do.
The English language is taking a hammering today.

Look, reneestewart reneestewart this forum actually listen to new posters if they have something worthwhile to add. Take your time to add your sentiments, don't rush it and don't assume no one has a clue on here. If you can manage that you will have a good time on here. If not, you won't.

So we have got him for 2 more years then before the draft?
What are your chances of a medal in the Asian games?

Cos the poor bugger is fucked otherwise. He surely won't come back from 2 years military service & resume at the highest level of club football.

Thank God we're keeping hold of Lamela.

Currently, Korean NT is in the shittiest form i've ever seen in the last 10 years. They might not even qualify for the WC for the first time in a few decades. If that doesnt change, we have no chance.

No one knows the exact answer for his military obligation right now

But I don't think your team didn't even know his situation and bought him paying those money and all that.
So basically you don't need to worry about that or it's just bunch of talking now.

As a fan, I hope he gives up his nationality.
If he gets a green card thing in Germany, he can certainly postpone his military duty for sure.
And hope in the end he gives up his nationality

BUt the stupid boy loves this shit country so much never tries to let go.
South Korea is a shit team right now the team can't even beat Syria or China without Heung min son.

He is not gonna play for world cup ever if he gives up his nationality but
he is gonna be free from all those international break etc..

The kfa (Korean football associ_) is so jealous of his ability right now.
Cuz he only played in Europe and never went through anything in South Korea.
They actually tried to kill him through media and all that.

Racism is killing him in Europe and stupid Koreans are killing him cuz of jealousy.
He doesn't have a home to stay.

This is why I want him to give up his nationality
Germany is way better place for him to stick to.

That's why last year he tried to go back to Germany.
it's his second home.

Poor boy.

What an idiot lol.

Blimey.
It really does seem that he is only likely to have 2 more seasons then before the draft ?
Are there any legal ways of delaying it at all, or would that also be frowned upon in S Korea?

If he is going to do the national service then I hope he will at least be able to delay it, as seems like by the time he should be hitting his peak his career will be over, all jokes aside though Levy don't seem like the kind of guy to buy a player with such a limited career and terrible resale value due to this?

Getting a green card can legally delay it but Korean fans wont let that happen regardless of how heroic he is. Like I said before, Park Chu Young, who used to play for Manoco + Woolwich, used to be a hero but after he got a green card from Monaco to postpone his military duties, he is one of the most hated players now. Besides, England wont give him a green card lol.

It's an awful shame then. It seems like he's going to miss what should be the best years of his career through military service. I can understand the cultural demands of the country, but it's a genuine kick in the teeth for the player himself.
It's not like he's suddenly going to be unfit for military service when his professional career comes to an end. He will still be a very physically fit & relatively young man. The rigidity of the requirement is quite remarkable, bearing in mind the positive Publicity someone like Son provides for the Far East.

Im sure mr Levy has something up his sleeve for this, other wise I think he would have gone last summer when we had a big offer on the table from Germany.....
I guess it all boils down to what Son wants to do really, but Levy being Levy, I can't see him not having a plan in place already.......

Korea should win the gold in 2018 Asian game. The team is going to have Son plus couple of Barcelona kids Lee and Pak on top of several other up and coming young Korean talents. If they cant win the thing w that kind of squad maybe they all do need to go to military hand in hand

Ah "Green Card".

What we really needed on here were some more bullshit American terms :deledoubt:

Oh, Sonny will get drafted into the military alright...

But luckily, we've got a signing lined up called 'Laddy' who's the next big thing.

I thought Son would be greedy today since he missed his possible first hat-trick in EPL. Proved me wrong...
Where did the selfish Son from last match go? He's passing game today is brilliant. Just brilliant.

I dont really understand why ppl call him "selfish". Did you even bother to compare his shooting success rate to those of others in the team? He shoots because he knows he can score. I bet Kane shoots way more than Son does when he is supposed to pass to his teammates. Being selfish is not a bad thing for strikers, imo, as long as it doesnt fk up the team.

If we'd have had this year's Son instead of last year's Lamela, we'd have won the league. Can there be anyone left who'd pick a team with Lamela ahead of Son?

He's been superb this year. I had my doubts but have been spectacularly proven wrong. I love that I was, & am now dreaming up ways that Spurs may "extract" him from his military predicament.

But you guys are hard task masters & I (as a Spurs fan) happen to think that stealing his best footballing years from him for military service is very sad indeed. Then again, I don't have Kim Jong Un as a neighbour.

Mate, don't be so offended by it. I love Son. If you look at my previous comments, I have always backed up Sonny. What I meant was his vision and composure were significantly improved in the past few games.
"Selfish" doesn't always mean bad thing in football as you say. Strikers need to be selfish to strive. But take a look at Kane today. A top class striker, who passed to Sonny with a sublime touch, which led to a goal. Thoroughly deserved a standing ovation.
Football is a team sport. Being selfish and scoring is good. But passing and supporting are just as important, if not more.
In that regard, Son's plays were phenomenal today. Passing, shooting, positioning, defending. He had it all. Such an underrated fella!
