The bastards with the Twitter account Last Word On Spurs have had me on toast there haven't they? Thanks for the info

Whilst the picture was fake the news was accurate - so fair play for spotting it - Son had his surgery with his regular doctor in Korea yesterday, despite initial fears that it was 'worse' than last time according to Korean reports (and it's massive news in Korea he's a bloody rock/pop/film/sport/porn star all rolled into one) and bear in mind my Korean is pretty poor so a bit of leeway on some of the medical stuff, however it seems that a plate and three screws were all that were needed as the break was clean and far enough from the joint to be easily set. That should mean a relatively simple recovery and may permit him to play with an arm cast as the joint can flex without stressing the break point.

The only downside was that the break was in the same bone as before which might indicate an inherent weakness, normally bone fractures heal stronger than the original bone (slightly thicker) it would seem the break is just beyond the last break, not a medical expert maybe we have someone who knows about these things.

Son will be kept fairly isolated in Korea to avoid any risk of CORVID 19, provided the UK don't impose a 14 day quarantine on anyone flying from Korea he should be fine, or alternatively he will come back and finish his recuperation here under quarantine ... that's TBD

So there's a good chance Sonny could be back playing again sooner rather than later? The timeframe was bleak looking before so we could in theory see him back in a few weeks/ a month is a cast is possible?

Honestly that's way beyond my knowledge, if you look on the internet plenty of sportsmen/women return from fractures in 4/5 weeks ... as long as the break can be protected I don't see why not ... fingers crossed.

:mourfacepalm: Our whole game plan would have changed if he was healthy. We started with 5 backs today....

We literally played Kane and Son at home to Chelsea and played worse.

It wouldn't have been any better with Son today. It would have been the same lack of service and a lack of intent going forward.

When Son is on, he finds a way to score goals. He has proven that over and over again. We will never know but would have been better than this crap they put on today.

He hasn't scored away at a top 6 club since the 21st Jan 2017.

I wouldnt have held my breath mate.

And he scored against Chelsea 24th Nov. 2018.

You didn't say "in league" actually, and he scored against Chelsea on 18th Nov 2018.

Well I just told you I'm talking about the league.

I'd like to have seen us play Chelsea without Kane and w/ Sonny. Call it a fluke or whatever you want but you can't argue that we somehow manage to get results when Kane is out and Son is in. I think we would have found a way to at least get a draw w/ Sonny in the line-up.

......Shouldn't that mean he scores at least 38 goals each season?

Historical data does give some guidance on what is likely to happen but that doesn't always turn out to be the case.

If you were to expect outcomes purely on historical data, no one would have expected Son to bang in 2 against Man City in the CL last season.

I think Son would have made a difference to today's game. He would have sucked up more defenders to free up Moura, he could have made Chelsea more hesitant to push up their back line.

He might not have scored, as you've said, but all good players influence the game in one way or another.
