Well, being retarted isn't a medical term anymore. Which was my point. First it was Cretin, then that was too offensive, then Retarded, which was too offensive, then handicapped. Which of course will also turn offensive. Not because of the word itself but rather the use of it.

It's just a bit of a pointless changing of words.

don’t you know, they’re not handicapped... they’re differently-abled

geez don’t be so offensive

The best partnership in the world ATM?
I don't think there's one that's clearly better in the league. And they're certainly in the conversation for Europe (and thus basically the world). But you do have some outrageous competition at that level: Neymar/Mbappe, Lewa/Gnabry etc.

I absolutely love Kane and think he’s a world class footballer but up until recently, I just didn’t think that he had been performing up to his abilities the past couple years. So yes, like other underperformers in the team, I have criticized him.

Kane as our plan A, B and C hasn’t worked and we absolutely suffered. I have been arguing for a change in our tactics - one that utilizes Son upfront more frequently and Kane in a different role to create more space for our other attackers. Some interpreted this as being Son Fanboy comments or whatever the hell that means but I was speaking from a footballing perspective.

Now Jose has seemed to figure out this formula and we are banging in goals for fun. It’s not just Son and Kane scoring as well. It’s a variety of different players in a number of ways. I’m absolutely ecstatic as a Spurs fan that we are playing up to our potential.

Kane is the key piece to this transformation and couldn’t be more happy with Kane taking his game to the next level. I have been praising him non stop for the past couple months but some fans in here only see and react to the negative posts about Kane for some odd reason...
I have noticed a change in the tone of your posts tbf. Historically, you've been too harsh on Kane and too interested in trying to demonstrate that Son is better (which is linked to the first thing) for my liking. But I can't remember you making any of those comparisons for a while now.

It may never completely go away - even in the quoted post, you're definitely underrating Kane by basically saying that he's only recently become good - but in the interests of fairness and objectivity, I'll +1 you. I'll defend you on your claim to have changed the way you post because as far as I can tell, it's true.

Son's corner kick has been real good this season

Premier League chart toppers: Who's leading the stats so far this season?

Chances Made From Corners

  • 1st - Heung-min Son (6)
  • 2nd - James Rodriguez (4)
  • 3rd - Bruno Fernandes, Pedro Neto, Trent Alexander-Arnold (3)
This statistic goes some way to explaining the sudden rise in Son’s creativity, with the South Korean now on corner duty and six of his balls connecting so far. Liverpool fans, meanwhile, might be expecting a little more from Trent Alexander-Arnold considering his quality from dead ball situations.

Wonder how many shirts he is responsible for selling?
It would not surprise me to see that he was our main shirt seller, if that type of statistics is available.

I'd argue that Son is our most valuable player. Not in how we play where Kane has a very solid argument since the team is more or less built around him. But from a marketing, financial point of view. He's the Asian continent equivalent of Ronaldo with a Lewandowski style marketing empire built around him. Kane is a great player but outside of football he keeps to himself and only really promotes things through us or charities. Which of course is his right.

As long as we hold on to Son we have a much easier time grabbing a dominant position in the Asian market and the club 100% knows this.

I think the commercial value of Asian players is always overstated.

Selling shirts really doesn’t generate that much income, and we’re not really taking advantage of Son financially.

It’s not like we’ve managed to rope in Samsung as a shirt sponsor.

We do however, have one of if not the biggest insurance company in Asia tied down as our long term shirt sponsor. As well as partnership with multiple Asian companies like Kumho Tires (South Korea based), HSBC (UK and Hong Kong based bank) and FUN88 (an online casino geared towards Asia).

Think we had AIA as out shirt sponsor before Son, didn’t we?

We should look for more deals like Kumo, think it would be a win win situation for both parties involved.

We did indeed. But once we got Son in and he took off we managed to secure a long term, big money extension. We were already in bed with them but having Asia's biggest footballer on the roster probably helped with the extension to some degree.

And I agree about the bit on Kumho.

Agree with this, and have also noticed he is far better at taking the corners from the left side.. might be down to him taking in-swinging corners from that side a oppose to him taking out-swinging corners on the right (when he has had a chance to take them there). Think the coaches realise this hence when Lo Celso plays he takes corners on the right and Son on the left.
