The scum need 5 wins to get to 68 points right?

I can see them dealing with Norwich, Wigan, Fulham and QPR fairly comfortably, picking up at least a point against Newcastle, Everton and West Brom, and depending on Man Utd's motivation for their game, they could take something from them as well....

Them going unbeaten from now on isn't far fetched.

Maybe i'm being pessimistic, but I see them finishing with 70-72 points.

I reckon if we're finishing 4th, it's above Chelsea, and reliant on our game with them (must not lose)
at Loftus Road, that's far from guaranteed.

You're both forgetting QPR's secret weapon ......................agent JJ .

You know how it goes T, these teams put up a decent fight against us, but when that lot turn up with their tickling stick, they all roll over and play nice.

QPR turned them over at this time last season, same weekend we beat Swansea - I can see QPR making it very difficult for most teams at Loftus Road. Newcastle away on the final game of the season won't be easy at all...in fact, I think their game in hand could well stuff them up, too.

The scum going unbeaten isn't too far fetched but likewise, them dropping points to QPR, Newcastle, United, Everton, QPR and West Brom would hardly raise eyebrows.

Squeaky bum time. With their draw at the weekend Liverpool can no longer achieve the 68 points and it's becoming near impossible to catch us. It will be hard for Everton too, especially with their remaining fixtures.

Teams will drop points, but who will drop points where? Chelsea, Spurs and Woolwich are all looking like they could get past 68 points this season, but that can change fast!

I dot understand that last bit at all! :walker:

But this doesn't factor the strength of the opposition, or like for like comparisons for the respective home/away results from previous seasons.

It doesn't factor form of the opponents we are due to play, or indeed the form of the opponents for the games we have played, it also cannot accommodate for injuries, player sales / acquisitions, or any other number of factors which could either positively or negatively affect the previous 32 or the next 6 games. It also doesn't allow for skew as you cannot win 1.78 points if you win a game and so it is too small a sample size to be predictable.

Which still means that there is statistically nothing that can be derived at this time. There is no proof, only conjecture.

Nothing can be derived, the only thing we know is how many points we are on.

Please make it stop now, for the love of god (other mythical deities are available from all good stores) and all the ostriches.

This can only be fixed with the involvement of the development a super clever algorithm statistical based software application.
Sorry eanN17 eanN17 we need the real deal. Its time to move over.
