I think it's inevitable that in such a scenario they'll broadcast as many games as possible (great way to 'weld' people to their sofas) so staggered k/o times makes perfect sense.
It does, I was being stupid in reading 3pm kick offs as being allowed to be televised over and above the already scheduled TV games.

I posted 19 March suggesting May but let's say June restart:

We have 9 EPL games left.
Let's say restart date Monday 1st June:
1 -4 -7-10-13-16-19-22-25.
ECL games R16 28th June.
Quarters: July
1-4
Semis
7-10
Final 13

EPL 2020-21 due to start 8th August.

I’m not sure how they can finish the season without interrupting next season, will it even be safe to start next season, we are in unprecedented times and at the end of the day football shouldn’t matter, but money talks

What is the best solution if all the games can’t be completed?

Every persons opinion is what ever suits their club. ie slutbucket Brady thinks it should be null and void, whilst, shock shock horr, Phil Thompson and Jamie Carragher think the season should be completed or Liverpool awarded champions..

Someone is going to have to make a very very tough decision, and no matter what, there are going to be thousands and thousands of pissed off people.

What should happen?
It won't mean anything if it is awarded prematurely, its way to early to call the league in anyway. And imagine every time you quote your club's achievement its disputed (imagine a few already know that feeling), it devalues it.

I don't see the point of having the games at the stadiums if there are to be no crowds. Surely it would be better to have them at the training grounds. There would be less people needed to open the stadium, can keep the players in less locations and therefore reduce the chance of coming into contact with infected people etc.

It just seems so much easier. There's going to be no atmosphere anyway, so I don't see how it makes any difference. Plus they won't be able to use VAR without rigging up lots more cameras. Seems an easier and cheaper way of doing it for me. If it happens of course.

Mid April: This season is no longer important. Clubs and media should accept it, take the losses and move on asap.
Season 2020/21 is more important and crucial, the work should start now to protect next season.

It's narrow minded from clubs,PL and FA with current crises and inevitable lock down extension to plan to complete current season. You can not prioritise Covid19 testing for players and staff, you can not play 40 plus PL games behind closed doors when you will have fanatic and crazy fans wondering around the stadiums. More importantly, football is not relevant today. Plan the future now before it's too late.

Please stop with this hyperbolic virtuous nonsense.

We all completely understand (well the vast majority of us) the gravity and horrible seriousness of this virus. But football does matter. It matters not just for the cultural and social reasons, which form part of the fabric of millions of people's lives, but it also matters enormously like any huge industry matters, that employs millions of people, and generates billions of bounds in revenue for local areas up and down the country and the government as an industry.

Not resuming the current season could mean the industry loses over a billion pounds, that could mean job losses, it already is meaning job losses, that means lives affected adversely, that means the economy damaged even more than it is, which in turn mean lives made harder for ordinary people, because not only are the out of work but when the economy tanks, public services get cut - like the NHS etc.

Of course the priority is doing what's right to save lives and to manage the health crisis. But there are very valid reasons why the PL clubs would potentially like to find a way to finish out the season if safely possible.

Please don't ask me to stop anything. Remember, it is a forum of people who have different opinions.

Points taken, on the other hand though, Liverpool could see the title slip through their fingers...

Soooooooooo... Worth it??? 😬

Void the season now for no other reason than it would be the funniest thing ever for pool to be denied the title , granted if it was spurs in front I wouldn’t be saying this, but they ain’t! :levylol:

Vote/poll at the bottom of this article. First vote I've seen from any of the mainstream media. Liverpool fans won't be happy...

Premier League season: What should happen next? BBC pundits have their say -
Currently 38% think the season should be null and void.

The BBC won't like that. They love Liverpool and will be desperate for them to win the league. Unlike the rest of football

The Scottish Professional Football League season outside the Premiership has ended with immediate effect following a vote by clubs.

“The announcement comes after the remaining Ladbrokes Championship club signified their agreement to the resolution today, resulting in Dundee United FC being declared champions of the Ladbrokes Championship, Raith Rovers FC being declared champions of Ladbrokes League One, and Cove Rangers FC being declared champions of Ladbrokes League Two.”

Hows that work with promotion/relegation?

Fuck knows! Expanded leagues I imagine.

The SPFL has not said if those league winners will be promoted and Partick Thistle and Stranraer relegated.
However, it did confirm it will explore an expanded Premiership for next term.
Hearts chairman Ann Budge and Les Gray of Hamilton Academical will lead a taskforce, and will be joined by "other football figures to provide input and support".
