Manager Igor Tudor

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Don't really wanna jinx it but if we can't secure our main managerial targets this summer (that is Poch or Iraola imo), I would give Tudor another season to try and stabilize us back into top half of the table. That is if the signs continue to be good and if he pulls the miracle and saves us from relegation.

Agree but only if we can't secure Poch (imo).

Talks a lot of sense this guy. I think the attitude adjustment shown by the players over the last 2 weeks, mas o menos, has been welcome reprieve from the Frank reign.

Let's hope he can do the job and keep us in the prem. Would be great to give him a good send off if he does so.

We'd make the same mistake as Juventus. Tudor is a good safe interim appointment, but he's not good long term because he's quite limited tactically. If he keeps us up, he'll be a respected figure here.

Still don't understand his team selections but he really seems to have got a bit of buy in from the players, which I think is more than Frank ever achieved.
I keep looking at the team sheets, and looking at the likes of this

BBC
4231
Vic
Drag Rom VDV Spence
Gray Sarr
Porro Simons Tel
RKM

SSN
Doesn't even attempt to make sense of it

THFC - same as BBC

Yet whenever I looked at the TV, it was a back 3.

So what I think I'm seeing is a very vague, non specific formation that is changing on the fly. I think the tune is coming from the buy in. I think he's managed to say to the players "I don't care about this, or that, I just want you to work hard, leave everything you have out there, challenge everything, don't stop running, do the simple stuff right as often as possible"
And it seems to have worked.

A lot of the focus has been on the last 2 games. But if you squint and take out the first 15 minutes away in Madrid, we played well there too. We weren't even horrendous in those opening stages. 3 split second howlers sent us out overall.

Let's hope this is the first signs of something big growing

You haven't done the research here, have you.

Walked down the tunnel, didn't shake Simeone's hand, didn't acknowledge the fans, hug the players or shake the ref's hand.

He aint here for all that woke nonsense, guy's just here to do a job and fuck off, gotta respect that :D

Can we wait until we’ve won at least one premier league game before we do this please, ideally a few but I know that isn’t realistic..

Saw someone complain last night because he went straight down the tunnel after the game instead of applauding the fans.

When did pundits get so soft?!

Is mad how people just have to find something to use against him! There's gonna be a lot of media vitriol when he keeps us up.

I hate it when managers are out after a match high fiving and back patting. It’s all performative bollocks. He thanked the crowd in his post match press conference. I’ve never once been bothered about a manager clapping fans. The players is slightly different but again I’m not really bothered as I’m trying to fight my way out the ground.

Woke up this morning with immense pride. We are starting to get our Spurs back and credit to Tudor. Piece by piece he is fixing us. But we have to back it up this weekend now with a big performance. If we play poorly this weekend then its back to square 1 and the same questions arise where the team only show up when they feel like it.

Tudor has surprised me with his coaching. I thought he's just be an angry man who'd get our players fit and make them suffer, defend and try eek our results in a nasty way. Foolish I was. I've totally underestimated this man. He has us coached brilliantly. The press yesterday was fantastic. The way we changed formation multiple times in the last 2 games, in game adaption, fantastic. For the first time all season we don't look a disjointed team relying on all our players to win their 1v1 duals. We are now playing like a team in sync and united, and it shows! All of a sudden players like Tel and RKM who were so easy to nulify under Frank, are finding space and getting multiple opportunities. We are seeing Spence, Romero and Porro regularly joining in on attacks and providing overloads but its not disjointed because players like Gray and Sarr know to drop off. Its all in sync.

So Tudor has won me over but we need to see us back it up this weekend or the doubts will immediately come back. We might play very well and still not win. City couldn't beat Forest at home 2 weeks ago. They probably have better players than us in key positions. But the important thing is we play well and don't lose! If we play well and win then wow, Tudor is the man.

In terms of next season. Lets not get carried away. I still think the return of Poch is what the club needs. But for now we need to focus on winning games in the league (something we still haven't done in 2026 and this is our last game in March!!). One step at a time, but promising trends starting to develop and Tudor deserves immense credit.

And the context is...we were out of the competition.

I could understand if we won by 4 goals and were through - that would be worth celebrating.

We were knocked out by a team that, bar the absolute calamity that was last week, we probably could have beaten.

Oh and we're also still in a relegation battle. What's there to celebrate?!

I genuinely love how he ruffles the knickers of all the journos/pundits just because he doesn't give a shit what they want him to do.

100%.

I also love how the linesman was evidently afraid of him and looked like a sorry kid explaining any decisions that went against us to him. Tudor has a presence and its starting show!

Funny that Drag was nominally the rb despite us having two actual right backs on the pitch at the same time...

:djedstare:

:porrohands:
It actually worked quite well because Dragusin got underneath lots of high ball. Given Oblak was out injured Tudor probably assumed Atletico would kick it long and target that channell. Dragusin isn't the best defender or player but he doesn't lose too many aerial battles, he must have headed atleast 10 balls into the Atletico half from their long balls.

I need to be careful not to lose the run of myself and give Tudor too much credit as some of this might have just happened by chance rather than design. But wow, he nailed everything yesterday including that decision which looked bizarre when i first noticed it!

Yeah but City should have had 2 clear penalties and also forest scored an absolute wonder goal out of no where to get the draw.

True. If we play like we did last night then I'd fancy us to win. But unfortunately its not a gimme. Forst are a very good side and have better players than us in multiple positions. Big test for Sarr and Gray up against Anderson, Sangaire and MGW.
