Transfers January 2013 Transfer Window DISCUSSION Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If we are poaching from City again Balotelli or Dzeko are more attainable.

Dzeko was great in Germany and would suit our side IMO, and being "super sub" I can imagine he might be available.

Balotelli is a disruptive influence and is as mad as a box of frogs but I have to admit there is something about his craziness I really like. Also he is a damn fine striker. Also he seems to be on the move for sure...

I would be happy with either of those players, though I would certainly worry about Mad Mario's temperament. Though he is one of those players that could be a legend. He reminds me a little bit of Cantona.

The best transfer would be to keep Bale , and this will be valid for about every transfer period in the near future

Honestly can't see him staying after Summer, especially if we don't qualify for CL. I think a player in his position is alot easier to replace though than a central playmaker/striker like Modric. If he did go I should imagine we'd move away from the two pacey winger system and go for a more 4-3-3 oriented system

For 15m of your English pounds, at the most, I offer the name Victor Wanyama of Celtic.

He's a Kenyan brick wall who plays as a defensive midfielder, six foot two tall and wide, runs all day, great passing ability, good with his head (as his goal against Barcelona last week showed.

I'm not normally one to encourage anyone to do their shopping in Scotland, but this guy will be very very good indeed. Even imagining him and Sandro together in our midfield gives me a massive podge-on.

Couldn't agree more about this. In both of Celtic's games vs Barcelona this season he was absolutely phenomenal although Neil Lennon is talking about him being worth £25 million. He's quite similar to Dembele in that he's very good on the ball and very high energy. His tackling and physical presence are top notch too. I doubt Celtic would let him go mid-season for anything other than silly money but he's definitely going to be moving to a bigger club over the next few years. That being said though they do have a pretty solid guarantee of Champions League football every year so there's no saying he would necessarily want to come to Spurs right now but he would be an excellent CM addition..

Annoying that Willian seemed well up for coming to Spurs in the summer, but we left it too late (not like us).

Now he seems to want to join Chelsea (surprise surprise)

I guess their CL meeting cemented a few things in his mind...
