No, I did not watch that particular game. I don't think Garcia is getting enough out of that group of players. Looking forward to seeing what a new coach can do.

Funnily enough, I’ve gone a little bit the other way, was very nonplussed by Garcia’s appointment but last few months have actually been reasonably (reasonably) impressed with what he's doing. I don't think this is as talented a side as Lyon's recent teams. It's not like Ekambi and Kadewere are stellar footballers, his 433 kind of plays to Lyon's strengths - their midfielders - I thought he did a great job in the CL last season, and has got them 2 points off PSG halfway through. I was very impressed by how they approached the ASSE game, be interested to see if he can keep it up.

Good point, my bad. My criticism and wording was imprecise but what I mean is that his profile has been formed by the few goals and highlights that he indeed does have, the facts that he was so young on his debut, and the reports of RM's interest. That's it, that's all. Unlike some players that I describe as having "no there, there" he indeed does have raw materials upon which to build but there is a discordance between what has been displayed thus far relative to his profile. My point? No fucking way would or should anyone pay anything remotely close to 100M for this player. And if I was Rennes I would have sold him the second someone mentionted 100M (though rennes are minted but sensible).

My point? As of now he is myth.

I missed this weekend's game as my boy Renato has been injured. Figures he's come back this weekend after I watched the last 2 or 3 with him in the stands.

Fair do's. I don't think anyone has offered remotely close to 100m, or even half TBH. I think it was smart for him to stay where he was this year and play another whole season, do some more learning and developing. Somewhere like RBL (as you suggested) or Dortmund, BMG, or even Europa level Spain where he could work on the technical maybe - but I also think he's got the character and tenacity for the PL one day.

Is he HG, and what are his statistics like? Highlight videos can be misleading

He is HG

He's 19 years old and has 4 goals and 8 assists in 1545 minutes in the Championship this season (About 17 games).

He also has 1 year left on his contract.

Variously reported as having a release fee of £8m or no release fee and Reading seeking a fee of £30m (not that they would get that but if Eze went for £20m odd that might set the precedent). Problem of course is that PSG want to loan Dele not pay a transfer fee

He has 1 year left on his deal - I think Reading know they won't be getting £30m

Has Michael Olise been linked to us at all?
Nothing very reliable from what I have seen but there were rumors floating around on social media of our interest. I'll be honest, that's the only way I heard of him and then I watched a few Reading games since and I have been impressed with him. Reminds me of when Eze was first getting rumored with teams and nobody went for him. I said at the time I wish we got him instead of Palace and I still think that.

It's their style of football I find disappointing. I don't watch them all the time, but I like a lot of their players. I would like to see a coach go in there with a philosophy of wanting to dominate possession/press higher/move the ball more quickly. For my money, Rudi is too much into his mid-block and hitting teams on the counter, even against clubs with inferior resources, which is particularly disappointing to me. But reactive football is in vogue these days, so maybe I will just fade into the wallpaper again.
