Transfers January 2021 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Dele loan will be with no option to buy, so PSG have to pay loan fee. Levy is not stupid:levylol:

So we lose a player in the most difficult season ever (in terms of numbers/frequency of matches). We've had very few injuries this season, but if we pick up a few, we will need everyone....including Dele

Hence if he goes I'd like a very large transfer fee to buy players with to replace him

He is HG

He's 19 years old and has 4 goals and 8 assists in 1545 minutes in the Championship this season (About 17 games).

He has 1 year left on his deal - I think Reading know they won't be getting £30m

Was with Chelsea and then Mancity before joining Reading in July 2018 so probably count as HG.

4 goal;s in 25 appearances this season, no goals last year in 23, so might be more one for the future despite the video ?

To be fair from what you're both saying, he seems like a decent prospect, but not sure I'd rush him from the Championship to PL just yet. Even if we did sign him, it would make more sense to loan him back to Championship, so I don't think it makes sense to replace Alli while he's on loan.

I admittedly have never watched a game of Olise's but based on the videos posted he looks like he could maybe develop into the role we have Sissoko playing. He isn't as strong as Sissoko (he's only 19), but he seems to have a little more skill. He could be more lazy on defense than these videos imply, but I like what they show on that end.

Signing him and loaning him back to Reading until the summer would be smart. But we can't keep missing out on the lower league talents we have done over the last few years.

We don't need to replace Dele, certainly not over the next 6 months - he never plays anyway.

As Spursidol pointed out, we haven't played him much so far, but we will have a very hectic fixture list for the final few months of the season, and Lo Celso is injury prone. I think if we let Alli go on loan, we will need a CM who can at least be trusted to start games in the Europa League and FA Cup.

We are in four competitions. Jose want options. Lo Celso is injured, Bale and Lamela we never know when they can play, they are always in the medical room... With no Dele and Lo Celso injured more time, Jose knows that we need to be safe with more options.

And with Covid situation, he never know when some players will have this....

We have 9 attacking players to choose from.

I am willing to bet, we'll never be in a situation where Dele Alli is needed.

Everton in the 5th round - I'd expect a strong team.

Wolfsberger in the Europa League, I would expect a trio of Lucas/Lamela/Bergwijn/Bale/Lo Celso to be chosen.

Beyond that, I'd start expecting stronger teams.

It's their style of football I find disappointing. I don't watch them all the time, but I like a lot of their players. I would like to see a coach go in there with a philosophy of wanting to dominate possession/press higher/move the ball more quickly. For my money, Rudi is too much into his mid-block and hitting teams on the counter, even against clubs with inferior resources, which is particularly disappointing to me. But reactive football is in vogue these days, so maybe I will just fade into the wallpaper again.

This is what surprised me about the St Étienne game. He had them pressing a bit higher up the pitch, they were more aggressive. As I said, the best Lyon performance I’ve seen in the league for a while. I hope it wasn’t just a one off.

Under Mourinho Alli is all but gone. I would say Alli has the period with PSG, if it happens to salvage his career.

It just makes sense.

If he stays getting the same amount of minutes he's getting up until the summer, his value would have diminished even more.

At least at PSG he will get more minutes and if he does well, he could potentially increase his value or even get a permanent move to PSG at the end of it.

I know this is a bit off topic but remember Alen Halilović? The new Modric? I was certain he was the next big thing and it just didn’t happen for him. He plays for Birmingham now believe it or not. Still only 24
