yup, but what can you do? We have to gamble on a mixed crop of players, players who are so young, and from different leagues are a big risk. We hope they're not awful, likely their wages are low so if it doesn't work out they can easily be moved on. If they do turn out to be stars then we've save huge sums. I'm not sure when the last youngster worked out

My point was about false promises from 'borrowing' clubs; not that we shouldn't buy kids........

Loans are a lottery and the reality is you can't contractually bond clubs to having to play x players as performance/form is an integral factor to any players minutes and any club will have their own agenda to rightfully prioritise.

DL would love to sell, he has for some time wanted this but no one has been found who would meet his price….

He would also believe it or not love for Spurs to be successful and be winning things because despite his off field successes with the new stadium and the training set up, his legacy would be forever tainted and remembered for what his tenure didnt achieve…

Lets be honest he could have easily sold out by now for a lesser price but for still an amazing profit, spend more time in his Bahaman home and be done…but he hasnt, why not? For the agro? The extra few hundred mil? Or because his ultimate goal he has still not achieved….

The same problem he has when it comes to getting rid of players. The man is a fucking knob, instead of doing quick deals for a price lower than his unrealistic expectations he is happier to not to sell and make everyone just suffer.

He and Lewis could easily sell the club for 1 billion and walk away with a monster return on their measly 30 mill investment. But no, they will want over 2 billion because they are greedy cunts and don't care that the fans have had enough of the way they have run the football side of the business and want them out asap.

For them to walk away with 1bn they are still required to find a buyer who values the club at 2bn due to the stadium finance and other bonds.

Ligue 1 expert Adam White believes that this season has been a “failure” for Tottenham Hotspur loanee Pape Matar Sarr, who has been playing for Metz in the French top-flight.

The midfielder was signed by Spurs for a fee of £14.6m in the summer but was immediately loaned back to Metz for the remainder of the campaign.

What’s the latest with Sarr?
The 19-year-old has emerged as a real talent during his time with the French club but he has somewhat struggled for minutes this season.

A Senegal international with four caps to his name, Sarr can play in a variety of midfield positions, including both defensive and attacking midfield.

But his minutes have not exactly been consistent during his time in Ligue 1 this term.

He has made 13 starts and has completed the 90 minutes just eight times in total.

Sarr has impressed, though, particularly in terms of the statistics that he boasts, per fbref.

He is in the top 20 per cent of midfielders in Europe’s top five leagues when it comes to non-penalty goals, total shots, and progressive carries.

He can move the ball forward well but White has found it difficult to watch him repeatedly consigned to the bench throughout the 2021/22 season.

What did White say?
Speaking to GiveMeSport, he said: "So at the moment, this season is a bit of a failure for both Sarr and for Tottenham because neither party is getting what they hoped. I don't know if there's a clause to recall him, maybe there is, but it's not something I know off the top of my head.

“At the moment, it wouldn't make much difference whether he was at Tottenham or at Metz, sitting on the bench at Tottenham is probably better than sitting on the bench at Metz, just for his development.”

Is Sarr good?
As his statistics show, he genuinely is an excellent option for Spurs and they will be hoping that he plays regular minutes at Metz throughout the remainder of the campaign.

If he is to come into the north London club at the end of the season and make an impact, he has to be getting minutes regularly in France.

Otherwise, Spurs may well be minded to loan him out again in the summer.

That would be a shame, because he is clearly an excellent option when it comes to moving the ball up the pitch.

He is the kind of player Spurs need and it is understandable that director of football Fabio Paratici allowed him to go back to Metz, even if it hasn’t quite worked as he would have liked.
This article is totally rubbish. It really looks as if the author of this article either does not know anything about football or just wants to make Sarr look as bad as possible - or both.
Below are his stats for this season:

I just looked up his stats for this season (Metz have played 20 games):
Sarr has played 18 games. Started 15 games, sub 3. 1250 minutes altogether.
Scored 1 and 1 assist
He has 5 yellow cards, so he's missed at least 1 game due to cards.

yeah, I was making a point about buying youngsters and how it's a gamble, often the club that retains them phases their involvement out. Can't really do much about it if you want to strike a deal. It's a sweetener that often leaves a bitter taste.

The new owners take on the stadium debt, Enic walk away with a clean 1 billion.

Well the new owners won’t have to do much, the stadiums increased capacity and corporate was built to cover the yearly payments and more. We will pay the debt as fans along with the events.

Didn’t ENIC offer us to the Saudis who bought toon but wanted 2.5b & an additional £1b “ add on fees “ whatever the hell that means

Eldridge investments took the proposal to the Saudis & they declined

Yeh..... The sum total from a buyers perspective being TWO bn.

You don't just buy a business and ignore it's debts.
I know but surely that is more attractive to potential owners than if ENic are wanting 2 billion cash plus the stadium debt being passed on to the buyers meaning the whole package is 3 billion.

My point is that Enic will not find a buyer and sell because they will just demand a price that no buyer will be comfortable paying, which is exactly how Levy deals with players we need to get rid of. Unrealistic high expectations.

This. ENIC don't own all the assets that form the value of the overall club.
Any players with outstanding fees to be paid aren't 100% ENIC assets
The stadium and training ground aren't 100% owned assets

The value to ENIC is complex. They'd have to get an independent opinion on what their actually owned assets are worth. On top of that, they would have to work out what profit they could make if they didn't sell and then negotiate an amount that is satisfactory for them to walk away now.

Really, the only way it will happen is if we start to suffer badly and experience crushing financial losses.
