Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The good news for Jose is we currently have a lot of very mouldable talent for him to work with who could still turn out for an u23 game if need be:

Austin (20)
Walker-Peters (22)
Foyth (21)
Sanchez (23)
Cirkin (17)
Winks (23)
Ndombele (22)
Lo Celso (23)
Dele (23)
Sessegnon (19)
Parrott (17)

Backup:

Whiteman (21)
Tanganga (20)
Eyoma (19)
Binks (18)
Georgiou (22)
Skipp (19)
Jack Clarke (18)
Luke Amos (22)
Max Robson (17)
Chay Cooper (18)
Harvey White (18)
Jack Roles (20)
Jamie Bowden (18)
George Marsh (21)
Kion Etete (18)

26 youngsters who have ability. Not all of them will make it but let's be honest when we look at the starting XI and potentially a bench that would consist of Whiteman, Tanganga, Georgiou, Skipp, Jack Clarke, Roles & Etete we have a hell of a lot of potential that could click with the right guidance and nurturing. Time for a few loans I feel, let's get some of these kids playing with the pros!
Our youngsters were not good enough and got eliminated from their CL group. Not really this weeks match but earlier ties saw them lose out. If collectively they were good enough they should have progressed. Does not include those in first team squad.

Can one of the native Portuguese speakers give a definitive description of how to pronounce José please?

Is it:

a) With an "H" sound
b) With a "Zh" sound
c) With a "J" sound (Jelly)
d) Some other pronunciation.

TIA

My thoughts now after a few weeks. He's done everything right with media so far. The players look happy. We might have a chance of top 4 this season with maybe the 6th best squad.

We have 3 players that would play in a top 4 team. Kane, Son and Dele. Rose, Alderwiereld, Vertongen, Wanyama, Eriksen, Lloris, Dier (?)have their best years behind them. Gazza, Davies, Lucas, Aurier, Winks, Lamela are average players. KWP not good enough. Sanchez, I don't know. The future players, Foyth, Ndombele, Sessegnon, Parrot, Lo Celso, Skipp aren't getting any time, hard to say how good they can become. To start competing we need a project, bring in young, hungry talents, and start to integrate the new players. I'm not convinced that Morinho is a project man.

Think you’re being a bit harsh on what you call our ‘average’ players: are you seriously saying they’re not good enough to do a job at Leicester, Chelsea, Utd, Wolves or the others sniffing around top four at the moment?? Clearly they are top four quality because they have been for the past few years.

You don’t have to blow away every single team ever to be a top-four team.

It is true that Jose is not a project/academy guy but that was because everywhere he went the owners demand instant impact/trophy so was he supposed to do? Wave a magic wand? No such thing so he had to wave a large pay check instead. However, I think before he signed for Levy he did definitely asked him what he want. If Levy said top 4 then Jose said “can do with no buy” and if Levy said League or Champions League then Jose said “in 1 full season or 2 with 2-3 buying windows @ £150 million pounds”

I'm not convinced that you know what the fuck you're talking about...

MESS-I-AH, according to some posters.

I have to admit, that on his current public performance he exhibits a degree of humility that makes him much easier to love. He is undoubtedly getting more out of the team than Poch was at the end, so long may it continue.

How about Jo-Mo?

Again, the difference.

Just interesting to see how this pans out but the contrast between Mourinho and Pochettino is clear.

Mourinho is also 100% confident that he is bigger than us hence players and club must take heed.
But...it’s a perfect marriage...he brings profile, experience and skill...we give him a perfect team for achieving with.

However, once we’ve won the Prem or CL (or other trophy) - there won’t be such a thing as ‘bigger’.

THFC are now really playing in the biggest arenas in the world - we have to stop thinking we’re a small team, we aren’t. We just don’t spend as much as the other ‘big’ teams. That’s it. The only difference. In many ways we are better: stadium, richer league, one of the best managers, stability in board and players...

Big dreams. It will happen.

Although we give Jose a lot his arrival gives us standing on the world stage. The fact that one of the most successful managers chooses to come to Spurs gives us more credibility at the top echelons of the game.

Today’s game was classic Mourinho ugly style ugly football but fuck it if we get results then so be it. I know there’s the “Tottenham way” and all that but if we want to compete then we’ve to dig in and do what we have to do.
