Just looking at a few Spurs youngsters loans overall :
Ashley Phillips
Successful loan for 6 months - 20 appearances for Plymouth (18 in Championship with 2 in FA Cup) with almost 1,600 minutes (almost 18 full games) played in his half season loan (compared to about 450 mins at Blackburn before we bought him). Young player of the season for Plymouth.
He's still 18, only 19 in June, although built more like a man. Probably better to get another half season or season loan under his belt next season, but a good pre-season could change that ?
Alfie Devine
Two half season loans with Port Vale (L1) and Plymouth (Championship), which gave him in total of 2.629 minutes - that's a lot of playing time for a first loan and has to be counted as a success, even though I'd have preferred him to play more at Plymouth. Played as an AM and deep lying (ie DM) midfielder. The minutes break down as :
Port Vale - 14 starts and 6 off bench, total 1,263 mins
Plymouth - 9 starts and 6 off bench, total 853 mins
FA/EFL Cup - 6 starts, none off bench, total 513 mins
He scored 3 goals and got 5 assists, including 2 assists for Plymouth.
He is aged 19, and 20 in August, and probably better to assume he goes on loan again next season, probably to a Championship club.. But again a good pre-season and who knows ?
Matthew Craig
Arrived at Doncaster when they were closer to relegation than promotion, but they reached the Play offs after his half season loan, so a proportion of the credit should go to Craig
20 starts playing 1,629 minutes scoring once with two assists, not bad playing as a DM - but in League 2.
He was 21 in April, but it looks as if he'll attract interest up to Championship level. Not sure if really good enough to play for Spurs though.
Troy Parrott
His most successful ever loan at Excelsior for the season. Full stats covered elsewhere. He's now 22 and has a contract until June 2025 (with a one year club option for a one year extension). Might be stay as a Club Trained player taking up a vacant squad place as an extra forward next season ? I suspect that might depend on Ange's plans for other youngsters. But if he decides to move in I hope we build in a decent sell on clause !
