Whispers beginning to come out about United...
I do think it's a bit risky for Mauricio honestly. It's obviously a step up and one of the most undeniably attractive jobs in the world. However, after his stint with us, the question about Poch is whether or not he can win trophies. He certainly got close with us many times, but he was not able to get us over the line. In his next job he will absolutely need to win something to 1. prove he can and 2. that will be the expectation of whatever club he goes to.
With United, he'd be taking over a team that has struggled for quite a while now and is in the middle of a rebuild. He's not taking over a Bayern team that can waltz their way to the title most years, he's taking over a struggling team in a league with stiff competition every year. The question with Mauricio is if he couldn't get it over the line because of his transfer budget/squad quality or because he lacks some key motivational element. At United, the first question will be removed, it will all be down to him.
Another final thing I'll mention is Poch's track record with transfers is honestly not the best. Will that improve with more funds, or will the misses just become that much more expensive?
Hard to say, but Poch to United would be fascinating.
