It seems team accolades are weighted highly. Messi, for example, has been incredible in 2018 and far beyond Ronaldo yet it'll still be a close run thing.

Not sure how REAL MADRID winning the Champions League is bigger than Lionel Messi winning the European Golden Boot, Pichichi and BARCELONA winning La Liga and Copa del Rey but there you go
