A manager just became available on a free,. You just know Levy has a hard on right now

Brendan Rogers isn’t a terrible manager. His style of football is ok, his results are ok but that is it, it’s ok and nothing more. He is also a bit of a dickhead.

Getting Rogers would say the club is ok, we are average, mediocre, not bad. You won’t get relegated but you won’t dream of a brighter future either.

This isn’t a young with a fresh vision and dreams on the up, this is mid life blandness.

Maybe a bit of stability and realism is what we need for a while ?

Rodgers on a three year deal to "land" a bit would work. And then you replace him with the next name to go for a league push.

The problem is not letting him stay on for longer than that.

As a club we have been best taking a risk. Rogers might fit a bit better than Jose or Conte but it’s a sign of submission for me.

We need to be looking for the next great manager just like we need to be looking for the next great players. Club should have scouts, analysts looking at Slot, Kompany, Gallardo etc and working out who is the next Klopp/Pep and who fits the attributes we need best.

Just like Brighton with De Zerbi and before him Potter. If the club doesn’t have this ambition then lower the ticket prices, make a statement and prepare the fans for Groundhog Day forever.
