Guys saying ENIC is the issue that Nuno is performing badly is only part of the story. His team is there and assembled, he works with them now each day. I don't think the team he was given this year was complete rubbish, I think he isn't playing the way we are all desperate for, attacking football.
We used to be a team with flair players and goals would come from all sides of the pitch. Now, it's Kane and Son or nobody really. We've even lost Bales goals. Attack is our strongest way and only way we know how to play. When poch introduced us to high pressing, it worked for us because we are a front footed team that wants to get on the ball and attack the goal as quickly as possible.
Defence was always leaky, it needed improving and we got it. Jan, Toby, Rose, Walker. All in their primes, all fantastic.
We're not far off that with our current batch on paper, but every week we play like Jose and Nuno have been is every week we let this crop a chance to bed in and play the way we expect. Regi and Royal are clearly great modern wing backs, but being pinned into their own halves because our midfield is so weak we're only seeing a fraction of what they can do. Romero hasn't got going but who is his partner? Is a 3-5-2 better for him?
Attacking football is what spurs are about and I just have no idea how Levy put that statement out and ended up signing Nuno. It sounds more to me this is Paratici doing, he called off Fonseca and we got Nuno who levy had clearly already looked at and moved on from.
Unfortunately with Nuno I think Levys only blame is allowing Paratici to decide. He listened to us in getting a DoF and to try and take a step back but there's clearly a huge error in bringing Nuno in.
Football works in strange ways. If Nuno went to Everton and played exactly how he wanted, they would possibly do well. Spurs fans though are a club in mourning still over the dramatic decline we've seen since the finals when it was all so good for us.
Nuno out, attacking manager, keep Paratici to decide transfers. That would be me direction and tell the new manager some of these older players will be moved on this summer.
