Delusional. No way Potter would want to come to Spurs. Hes working well with a good CEO. Why leave that and come and work for a stingy difficult person like Levy. Its not always about money. With his success at Brighton, there are so many other better well run big clubs in Europe he can go to. Not Spurs.
Well I think you're delusional, we'll just have to call it a stalemate.

Pretty much all reports suggested Potter was very interested in coming to Spurs in the summer, and if Levy could bring himself to offer him a transfer budget and a decent amount of power over the team, then he would absolutely join.

Brighton have a much smaller ceiling than we do. Potter would leave, we may be struggling but we're still a significantly bigger club with better players, they'll likely be losing Bissouma in the summer and probably 2-3 more players if they continue to impress.

Our situation is bad but these kind of takes are just doom and gloom. All the other 'better well run big clubs' have top managers and won't even look at Potter. We're the ones who need to take our chances on and up and comer and hope for another Poch.

I did allude to us making a relatively straight forward task seem almost insurmountable, the reality is that it shouldn't be all that difficult to achieve, if the people in charge have a modicum of competence between them.

And when the incumbent manager is as dire as Nono, the ONLY sane and credible thing to do is cut ties as early as possible. Fact is he should never have even been considered in the first place, Palace and Everton took a look and then avoided like the plague ffs.

If you've made a gigantic cock up the last thing you should do is double down and stick with it just for the sake of it.
I think you've answered all your questions yourself there chap.

Denial isn't just a place in Egypt boss.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here? What am I in denial about?

I acknowledge that our ownership is incompetent, but that doesn't mean we should just stick with Nuno for fear that they will serve up even worse, in fact, I think even they would be hard pressed to find a worse candidate for the job than him if given a do over. Nor do I think that their deficiencies would prevent a decent manager taking over providing they offer the right money and assurances.

I suppose their uselessness might however be a reason why they decide to just stick with him and hope for the best.

My one worry with Howe is that I don't think that he will get Kane on side.

Kane wants out. That much is clear. To get something out of him we need someone with more pedigree than Howe. The two free names that would fit is Valverde or Conte. And the fans would not be 100% happy with either.

Howe would be great if we went full youth movement.
Get rid of Kane then

Simple

One of our own my arse

He’s a disgrace

Until Levy and Paratici get rid of the mentally flakey deadwood and bring in some new hungry players, not one manager on this planet is getting a song out of this lot.

Sell Kane. Sell Dier. Cut your losses on the likes of Sanchez and Winks, Levy. They're not financial assets. They're pulling us away from the prize money.

Sell them for peanuts, buy some acorns and grow some oak trees.

Guys saying ENIC is the issue that Nuno is performing badly is only part of the story. His team is there and assembled, he works with them now each day. I don't think the team he was given this year was complete rubbish, I think he isn't playing the way we are all desperate for, attacking football.

We used to be a team with flair players and goals would come from all sides of the pitch. Now, it's Kane and Son or nobody really. We've even lost Bales goals. Attack is our strongest way and only way we know how to play. When poch introduced us to high pressing, it worked for us because we are a front footed team that wants to get on the ball and attack the goal as quickly as possible.
Defence was always leaky, it needed improving and we got it. Jan, Toby, Rose, Walker. All in their primes, all fantastic.
We're not far off that with our current batch on paper, but every week we play like Jose and Nuno have been is every week we let this crop a chance to bed in and play the way we expect. Regi and Royal are clearly great modern wing backs, but being pinned into their own halves because our midfield is so weak we're only seeing a fraction of what they can do. Romero hasn't got going but who is his partner? Is a 3-5-2 better for him?

Attacking football is what spurs are about and I just have no idea how Levy put that statement out and ended up signing Nuno. It sounds more to me this is Paratici doing, he called off Fonseca and we got Nuno who levy had clearly already looked at and moved on from.
Unfortunately with Nuno I think Levys only blame is allowing Paratici to decide. He listened to us in getting a DoF and to try and take a step back but there's clearly a huge error in bringing Nuno in.

Football works in strange ways. If Nuno went to Everton and played exactly how he wanted, they would possibly do well. Spurs fans though are a club in mourning still over the dramatic decline we've seen since the finals when it was all so good for us.

Nuno out, attacking manager, keep Paratici to decide transfers. That would be me direction and tell the new manager some of these older players will be moved on this summer.
Parasitic should also go. He is not to be trusted. The nuno appointment is due to him and I don't believe it was based entirely on his merits. Something stinks and he's one of the stinkees!

I do find it somewhat funny thinking about all of the anti-Potter comments and sentiment from so many others, and now I think that 95% of supporters would take him in a heartbeat after these shambles.

Maybe there is no bad feelings between Spurs and Potter so that wouldn't be a hold up if we were back in the market at some point. The bigger problem I would see is now that Paratici is in the driver's seat and seeing the comments from Fonseca that Potter isn't going to be an option.

It's funny how fans are using their agenda's against various individual players for this.
This is not on any one player. This is a squad that's well past its best. End of. Paratici didn't fix it. Nuno didn't fix it.
We've spent most of this season sending out the same old shit that let us down last season and the season before.
Expecting Paratici to fix this squad in one window is unrealistic.

I like some of the moves we've made. Young players with high upside - we have to continue in this vein. We've got rid of a few bad apples and stale players but there's a few more to go.

Yes he hired Nuno which is looking like a mistake but lets not pretend there are tons of amazing options out there.

Conte was a pipe dream - then you're left with Fonseca, Gattuso etc.? Just as bad tbh.

United have Ole ffs. Woolwich Arteta.

There's no quick fix with a squad that was this unbalanced, especially in midfield. A disinterested Kane is not helping either.

Skipp should be a mainstay. Hojbjerg is a fine squad player. Dele is cack and Ndombele/Lo Celso can't be relied upon. We need much more in there if we really want to start controlling games again and being more possession-based.

Sarr should help next season and I hope we add Kessie too.

We should be happy to move on Winks, Dele, Ndombele and Lo Celso.

Sort central midfield and we sort a lot of our issues.

There's too many of the same players here stinking the place up. No, it can't all be sorted in one window. Not by us anyway because Levy will put a cap on spend

But we shouldn't be in a position where names like Dier, Sanchez, Davies, Winks. Moura, Dele, Ndombele are still getting games. They should mostly have been sold already and the money used elsewhere. These are terrible players that under perform regularly.
If I had to guess, they have prices that weren't met. But that's certainly due to the fact every one else can see how shit they are.
